When I got the camera the battery was charged 20%. I charged it up to 30% using the usb cable (included in the package) and used it overnight. It didn’t drop much. In the morning, when I checked again it was still at 30% and by the evening it got charged (by solar) up to about 86%. The next morning it was around 60% or so. Not bad. I am very disappointed with its motion detection. I set up the sensitivity to be on MAX. Yet, I didn’t capture me moving in front of it for a minute. Same thing happened at night. Then, the snapshot capture can only be set to 5 minutes, 14 minutes or every 1 hour. Why not every 30 seconds or so? It didn’t even capture any snapshots of my 1+ minute walk in front of the camera. As such it’s hard for me to trust this product. It’s my first outdoor ring camera. The other two ring cameras that I own are indoor and also missing events, but at least I can capture snapshots every 30 seconds. Overall I am not very impressed. I expected better.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Stickup Camera picking up the correct motion. The Stick Up Cam uses infrared motion capturing to detect motion, within its field of view. You can use the Ring app to determine the Stick Up Cam’s motion detection range and the specific zones where motion will trigger a smart alert. These settings help ensure that the Stick Up Cam will capture the events you want to see and ignore the ones you don’t. The whole process from unboxing, all the way to accessing video footage is absolutely flawless. The Ring camera systems, as well as the Ring app, work seamlessly together to create a safety net for your home and your mind. There is even a panic button. We have a cat and it's nice to be able to check in on her while we are not home. I highly recommend this product. It's better to be safe than sorry these days.

And since it runs on batteries, I cannot say enough about the battery life between charges! In the summer months it will hold a charge for about 6 month and in the winter months about 4 months.

Connection to wifi is good and convenient, the only issue is you won't have 24/hf 365 day coverage, because you will have to charge the batteries unless you have an extra one, and cycle them.
