In addition, I have noticed when reviewing a motion, I do not understand how I see the landscaping worker up on my porch without seeing him walking up to get to the porch!! How the worker got to the porch is not recorded!

We understand how important it is for your Ring Outdoor Cam (Formerly known as the Ring Stick Up Cam) to function consistently and reliably, so you are alerted to any wanted or unwanted activity in or around your home. Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you are experiencing issues with the device in regards to connection. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal performance.
To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. In edition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.
We also recommend adding a Ring Chime Pro to your network. The Ring Chime Pro simply plugs into a wall outlet between your router and the Ring Stick Up Cam to assist with the wifi signal strength to the device.

The camera spots the raccoon and it sends me an alert to which i hit the alarm button and it runs away. I live out in the country so the alarm does not bother neighbors.

Long Battery life, great picture quality

Mine is battery and the battery life is very impressive. I had different band in this location and felt like all,I did was charge battery or reconnect to wifi. Ring is working great just like their doorbells and spotlight camera. Glad I made upgrade.

It’s kinda cool to look at it as well when it storms outside, but makes you feel safe to know you can see what happens. It’s super convenient to know when mail comes, packages being dropped off etc…

This camera has been great. We did not mount it and love the ease to be able and move it around. The quality is great, amazed at how clear the picture is. Took awhile to get the motion sensitivity correct but now we don’t miss a thing. The family feels safer. It has all kind of neat features.
