I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this camera, but not for the reasons most folks will use it. I have had Ring products at my home for security purposes. This day and age you can’t be too careful and every day you hear about home invasions, or someone pretending to be a delivery person and uses trickery to gain access to your home. I’ve been running a Ring doorbell and Ring floodlight camera for years and absolutely love them. My wife uses the Ring app constantly. So on to this camera. I had been looking at tilt and pan security cameras for some time and was thrilled to see Ring come out with their version. My use is a bit different than most however. Rather than setting up the camera inside the house I use mine in the garage to help me monitor a couple of 3D printers to make sure they are operating properly and not doing something crazy (if you do 3D printing you know what I mean). I placed the camera in a strategic location where it can see both print beds and I can pan and/or tilt to focus on one or the other printer. Using the Ring app I can control the pan and tilt with arrow buttons on a smart device (phone or tablet) and by pinching or spreading fingers on the screen you can zoom in or out. The Ring Pan and Tilt is perfect for this application however I did have to turn off motion detection to keep it from recording non-stop. The high definition allows for greater detail of the video capture. This would be perfect for a baby’s room monitoring, or if you want to spy on poochie… you know the one that or shreds a couch cushion. With the microphone and speaker provides 2-way communication capabilities so you can listen when baby starts crying or if poochie is doing something they shouldn’t be doing. Motion detection can trigger recordings and notifications. Connectivity is great once setup with your Wi-Fi. I can monitor any of my Ring devices remotely and communicate if necessary and even control the pan and tilt on this camera remotely. Setup was extremely easy using the Ring app. I already had a camera slot reserved in my Ring account so I used that spot. When adding the camera to your account just scan the QR code on the camera with the app and it will link up. Too many details to cover here but the app is robust allowing you to get the most out of the camera. Pic shows the print bed of one of my 3D printers at home that I took while at work.

The Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Plug-In Camera ~ Nice!

Received the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Plug-In camera and as I have 8 other Ring cameras I already had an account which made it easy to set up. I decided to use it in my Storage room as there are walls of totes and this way I can keep an eye on who's going in and out plus see what they're doing. Right after I plugged it in there was a needed update which after connecting to my 2.4GHz wifi (only works with 2.4GHz) went in without issue. Once it's turned on it goes into a Calibration mode in which it pans and tilts in each direction. You will need at least 6.5" of clearance on all sides to allow for the movement of the camera. I then set up the Home Position which is what angle it returns to after it exits Live View. I moved the camera to a shelf and then proceeded to use the arrow buttons in the app. Once finished I hit SAVE. I was under the impression this camera would automatically follow a person around the specified area automatically but that's not the case. I must admit I was a little disappointed in it missing this feature. You must be on the app and using LIVE VIEW. I tapped Rotate and used the horizontal and vertical motion control arrows to pan and tilt the camera. I found if I held the arrows longer it would move further but if I just wanted it to move slightly I had to quick tap the arrow for smaller increments. It does do a 360 degree Pan coverage and a 169 degree Tilt coverage. I played around with the settings and found the 1080p HD picture quality as good as my other cameras and the night vision was clear as well. It also has two-way audio with noise cancellation and a built-in privacy cover which a few of my other Ring cameras have and a feature I love. Because I have so many of this brand camera and use them throughout my home it was nice to be able to try out a remotely controlled Pan & Tilt style. As mentioned I was hoping it would record and follow someone automatically and hopefully that might be a future model Ring decides to produce. For now I am finding it useful and the quality is definitely there. If you are in the market for a Ring camera give this one a try. The price is quite reasonable and I can definitely recommend!

    Excellent Indoor Camera from Ring

Being a Ring customer for years, I have used all types of their camera line-up. The pan-tilt option made it way to being one of the top tier cams I love to use and can only hope they do more to it in the future. What sold be was how easy it is to use in app to pan and tilt but also the 360 degree of monitoring. In the box was the camera already assembled, a USB C to A "power" cord, wall wort, mounting hardware and the QR code for a super easy set up. I opted to set the camera up in my living room right smack in the middle of the home against a wall. Reason for this is even though you get 360 degrees of viewing freedom, you are still constrained to where you have a power outlet. So with my camera's position, I can view my home's exit to the back yard, the entire living room, the game room, my dining room and most of my kitchen and breakfast nook. Set up via the Ring app like all it's other products is simple and a breeze. I just hit add new device, scan the included QR code (or on the camera itself) and simply follow the onscreen instructions. Easy as falling down. You have the option of mounting the cam to a wall or even your ceiling (can invert the feed via the app), but as I said prior, as much as I wanted to go this route, I could not because of the power cord. If you can hide yours in the wall, I'd highly recommend this route as it would look so clean. Performance is excellent. Ring is 1 of my top 2 WIRELESS camera systems. Latency and lag is basically non-existent. For me personally, it is less than 1 second. 1080p HD is the resolution but in a house, it is more than adequate. You can set up to alert you at certain times of the day, if motion is detected etc. There are many ways to personalize to your tastes. Now if you are trying to spy on your kids, roommate or a burglar, it will be pretty obvious that they will know they are being watched due to the bright blue light tracking their movement lol. But another plus is that the camera is SUPER silent when panning. One thing to note is that the camera has a privacy shield, but it is completely manual. You will have to open and close it every time you do not want to be seen. For the future, I can only hope they make a wireless (battery powered) version for more mounting freedom, but I totally understand as the mount itself is all plastic and not really meant to battle the outside elements. So far, I really want to get a couple more for the other side of the house as this cam can easily replace multiple static cams. If you are already a Ring customer, I would highly recommend this in a heartbeat. Even people on the fence should really take a long strong look at it. It has my thumbs up.

Great little camera if you are already in the ring

Great little camera if you are already in the ring security ecosystem. Great camera if you are already in the ring security ecosystem. Keep in mind this camera requires a wire to run to a power outlet. Installation with this is nearly identical to all other Ring cameras, which is to say you can have it up and running in just a few minutes once you are set up on your home wifi via your smartphone. In my case, I have this mounted on a ground floor rear window sill, and it covers my back-yard area, and I can literally control it to 360 around, and also tilt upwards to view the interior of my home. I mostly want this to just cover my yard, so that I do not have to install an outdoor mounted camera. What I really like about this camera is that it allows me to free up another ring camera I had in the same space to another area of my home, as this essentially can cover more than just one view, because you can control the view if needed if you are away via the app on your smartphone. The camera is only 1080p resolution, but the saved video quality is still very good in my opinion. Like just about every other Ring camera, viewing through the app is just about as easy as can be, and you can control the pan and tilt from directional controls in the app. This camera also has a privacy shutter you can manually spin around and close, if you just don’t want to have it be able to view through the app. However it must be done manually, you cannot do this via the ring app on your smartphone. I don’t think this would be an issue in my case. I however wish this camera was wireless, with a rechargeable battery. It would just make it a very clean and simple setup, and I think make it much more versatile for most people. You do have the ability to mount it to a wall or a ceiling with the included mount, which is something I would have done had it been completely wireless with a rechargeable battery. I already have a ring doorbell and a few other ring cameras in my home, so this was a great add-on camera to my home, that I only wish had a rechargeable battery, to help hide it away even more. If you have the ability to put this camera somewhere on a table top, or shelf top this is probably ideal, as the power cord / wire just blends in, and can cover viewing of an entire room, and possibly more. Recommended if you happen to be in the Ring camera system. Otherwise, I would look at less expensive camera alternatives that also do pan and tilt, and offer some extra features without a subscription.

The ring pan and tilt indoor camera is a great new addition to my home security setup. It looks and feels well built, software is quick and easy to use and works wonderfully in Ring app along with other devices. the camera comes with charging brick, long charging USB C to USB A cable, a ceiling mount and screws for mounting. It can be use on a table, a wall or hung from the ceiling. the movement is 6 directional, up and down, left and right and pan. the image is clear and the 2 way chat feature works great and fast. there is no delay whatsoever. you can set it up in 3 modes: armed/ disarmed, home and away for maximum privacy. the price is very reasonable and affordable for something with these features and quality and the name behind it is very reputable. we got this camera so we can talk to our cats and check on them when we are out of town. you have the option to subscribe to get history and logs and record events on the cloud but its still a great option if you don't want that. I recommend this Ring Camera.

My home's outside is chock full of Ring cameras and lights and I have been very pleased with their quality, detection capabilities, and ease of use. The Ring Pan-Tilt indoor cam is my first camera to be inside my house. I didn't feel it necessary, but my wife requested one so that she can check on our main downstairs area either when we are both away or when she is home alone upstairs in bed. I thought the Pan-Tilt Indoor Security Cam would be great because it would give us the ability to move the camera around as well as follow/alert any intruder that may come in. This camera is probably the easiest set-up out of any of the other Ring devices I have. Granted, a lot of those needed to be hard-wired in, but this was still incredibly easy to add to our existing system without needing an installer or a degree in electrical engineering. From box open to first sight on the camera was about 10 minutes and that is WITH the firmware update it did upon connecting to our home's wi-fi network. I don't have it bolted into the wall or connected anywhere weird, it's just on top of a set of shelves that give it a commanding view of the entrances to our home downstairs. It was simple to place it, plug it in with its long USB power cord, set it's 'home' position that it will return to after using the pan/tilt controls in the app to look around, and configure the settings. Video is clear and bright, which is aided by a lot of good natural light into our living room, but even in the evening the infrared lighting/vision still gives a great view of the area. My biggest complaint so far has been that it seemed to take forever to find the best settings to balance both security and privacy at home. Granted, the only people (supposedly) looking at our feeds are my wife and I, but I don't want her to feel spied on when when I'm gone and neither do I want to be made to feel that way. But I also don't want to get alerts every time my wife gets up to go into the kitchen, or the cat comes into the frame on one of his zoomie patrols. Right now, I think I have the best configuration and perhaps I just need more time to really dig into the controls and scheduling, but I still feel like I'm missing out on some security while also not quite being as private as I may like. Perhaps that's just my misgivings with having a camera pointed at me for so much time. Our system up to this point has all been directed OUTWARD, this is the first time we have had to deal with INWARD security. Either way, Ring has a robust system for security your home and family and this new Pan-Tilt Camera just expands on the tools at your disposal. I think I've kind of hit a critical mass now where I need to switch from having a dual security system with my Ring set-up and our more 'traditional' alarm system and get them all combined under the Ring umbrella. Perhaps, a professional could also help me set up the 'balanced' settings that I'm looking for. I'm very happy with the Ring: Pan-Tilt Indoor Security Cam and would probably bump the 4 stars up to 5 when I manage to find the sweet-spot for the security/privacy balance.

      Hi Wraith.

We understand how important it is to have your Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam capture all the correct motion events. The Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. Rest assured, we are here today to provide you with some information in order to ensure you get the most out of your motion detection! We are confident we can find a solution that works well for you and your home’s environment.

This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.

We recommend setting up a motion schedule for your camera to detect motion as suited for your needs. Follow these steps in the Ring app to set a schedule for your Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam:
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the top Menu (≡).
      Tap Devices.
Select the device you'd like to apply the Motion Schedule to.
      Tap Motion Settings.
      Tap Motion Schedules.
      Tap Add Schedule.
Name your schedule (Night Time, Morning, Evening, Custom).
      Tap Continue.
Select the time frame you'd like to Turn Alerts Off or Turn Alerts On. (e.g. 1:00 a.m.- 6:00 a.m).
      Tap Continue.
Select the days of the week you'd like to apply the schedule to.
Tap on the circles to enable the day you'd like to apply to the schedule.
      Save your Settings.

Another great addition to the Ring ecosystem!

I have been a longtime user of Ring products, I have the security cameras around the perimeter of my house giving me great coverage and piece of mind, and with their integration into the Alexa system of products, you can call up and view any camera at any time. I've had one static indoor camera installed for a while, but this Ring Pan and Tilt Indoor Security Camera really is a game changer in that scenario! Having had Ring products for a long time, set up was really simple to integrate into my existing ecosystem. There is a QR code on the product, when you get into the app, you choose to add a device, scan the code and set up is almost instantaneous. I was up and running in about 90 seconds, and then there was a software update (which you should always do right out of the box) that took about another 2 minutes. The camera does a self check, rotated 360 degrees (back and forth, not round and round) and then up and down almost a full 180 degrees. (There is a challenge to this which I'll mention later). Once the self check is complete, you can either manually rotate the camera into position, or you can go into the app and use the arrow keys in the rotate mode for the camera. Both are really intuitive. You can pinch to zoom as well. I then left the confines of my study and went to position the camera in what I believe will be it's forever home. This is at the top of my stairs on a ledge where it will not be manhandled by anyone, won't get knocked over etc, and it's where I've had my previous indoor cam positioned for about 4 years now. When I put it in place, I was able to cover my front door, my entryway, some of my dining room and front window, I can rotate round and see my whole living room, breakfast nook, back door and rear window, a massive area that is now covered by video that wasn't before. But there's more, with the tilt feature, I am able to view all the way up my stairs, and into 3 bedrooms as well! The only hinderance is the pillar that is directly behind the camera, otherwise I would be able to see into 2 more bedrooms! The range of motion really is fantastic. Far superior to the previous camera. Motion detection is very robust, and detection is very quick. Notifications appear in the app almost instantaneously. The clarity of the video is what I would expect from a Ring camera as well. Overall really impressed. As I mentioned before, in the self check portion - one example of where this isn't as good as of a feature was this morning. We had a power outage. When the power came back on, the camera didn't just power up and continue working. No, it decided to do a self check of it's full range of motion, and ended up pushing itself off of the shelf and ended up just dangling there off the shelf by it's power cord. So while the location is the perfect place for the security camera to work, the challenge is that the camera itself will knock itself off of the shelf, which I really wasn't expecting! Other than that tho, another great Ring product and it will get a lot of use in our home.

    Almost the ideal indoor camera

*** Summary *** The Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam is mostly great with its crisp 1080P resolution, color night vision, pan and tilt camera function, person detection smart alerts, and an intuitive phone app interface that makes it simple and fast to change settings, view the event history, and control the tilt and pan of the camera. I say it’s almost the ideal camera because there are a few features I wish it supported, such as pet detection and the automatic tracking and movement of the camera to focus on a subject and follow it around. With that said, I think it’s still worth the coin since it’s not too expensive, and the camera is reliable and well-integrated with other Ring products via the Ring app. _____ *Pros: -Quick and simple installation. -Clear live-view and two-way talk volume and transmission speed. -Color night vision. -360° pan and 169° tilt coverage with 143° field of vision. -Privacy cover. -Multiple ways to mount or set the camera. -Timely real-time motion alerts. -Reliable connection via Wi-Fi and 4G LTE/5G. _____ *Neutral: -There is no animal/pet and vehicle detection. -The Privacy Cover is manual and not motorized. -Need a Ring subscription plan for Cloud backup and storage of videos. _____ *Cons: -There is no automatic tracking despite having a motorized base. The Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam has been a nice addition to my home, which already has eight cameras. With eight cameras, why did I get another one? It’s because of its headline feature – pan and tilt. I love that the camera can be rotated 360° and can tilt 169°, giving me a wide and vast view that my other cameras simple cannot provide. Speaking of the view, the feed comes in as very clear, crisp, and vibrant although it’s only a 1080P resolution. Accessing the camera far from home via 4G LTE or 5G produced a quality feed that was just as good as my at-home Wi-Fi network. The sound pickup and two-way talk audio quality is also pretty good, enabling frustration-free conversation with the other party. During my usage in the past week, I experienced no garbling or distortion over both Wi-Fi and 4G LTE and 5G. I also appreciate that there is a privacy cover that you can grab and rotate to entirely cover up the camera lens as well as the speaker cutout section. It’s a missed opportunity though, I think, for the privacy cover to not be motorized. If I left the house and forgot to unlock the privacy cover beforehand, then I would have no way to view my feed. Although the privacy cover is not motorized, the base of the camera is, and it can easily be rotated via the Ring app by either tapping the on-screen arrow icons or by pressing and holding on it. The camera reacted to my pan and tilt commands very responsively, and there was no discernible lag. With such a smooth, responsive, and quiet motor, it’s a shame that Ring does not have an automatic tracking feature for its newest indoor camera. It would’ve been so nice and cool for the camera to detect a person then follow the person’s movement around by automatically panning and tilting. I don’t know if it was due to a lack of funding, a tight development schedule, or a more expensive future “Pro” model that will arrive with automatic tracking, but it seems like a feature that many people would’ve appreciated and wanted. To get the most usage and smarts out of the camera, you need to subscribe to a Ring plan, and there are three kinds – Basic for $49.99/year, Plus for $100/year, and Pro for $200/year. If you only own one Ring product, then the Basic plan will suffice. But if you own two or more and you want Cloud backup of videos from all the devices, then the Plus plan will be required. I own two total Ring devices so I’ll have to make up my mind about upgrading from the Basic to the Plus plan when my trial period ends if I want to continue with all-device Cloud backup. After all is said, I consider the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam to be a good and worthy investment thanks to its affordable hardware cost, robust video and speaker systems, and an easy-to-use app that is snappy, responsive, performant, and frequently updated with bug fixes and improvements. If the device supported auto-tracking and the Ring Plus plan was a bit cheaper, then I would’ve rated this 5 Stars. Alas, I give it a solid 4-Star rating, and I would still recommend it to others who would appreciate a camera system that is easy to set up and use on a daily basis with an intuitive and easy-to-navigate phone app.

Ring Pan and Tilt camera to add to your system

Ring - Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam with 360° Horizontal Pan Coverage, Live View & Two-Way Talk, and HD Video The Ring Pan and Tilt Indoor Camera is built from the ground up to offer a 360-degree view of the inside of your home. It’s built to Ring’s high standards and is small, clean-looking, and well-built with various mounting options. It can be purchased in either White or Black, and it is small enough to blend into the background. It can be placed on a table or shelf or mounted to the wall or ceiling. Included is a charging brick and a USB-C to USB-A charging cable. There is no option for battery power or backup. There is a manual privacy cover. Like most Ring products, installation is a snap. Download the Ring App or integrate it into your current Ring App by adding a device, scanning a QR Code, and following some very brief instructions. From unboxing to setup and recording it only took about 5 minutes. Then, you set up and adjust motion zones and sensitivity settings and play with the pan and tilt. You receive all the parts that you need to mount it to the wall or ceiling if you choose instead of popping it on a shelf or desk. And of course, what is nice is that you can change the orientation of the view if you have mounted it to the ceiling. The lens is wide angle so you can monitor a large area and it has a slight fisheye distortion to accomplish this but it isn’t detracting from the overall view. The Cam has a 1080P quality and has color night vision. Of course, the big thing is the Pan and Tilt, which allows you to change your view and scan the whole room with only one device. The Pan is 360 Degrees. In the mobile app, when you access live view, you will find a menu that lets you rotate the camera left and right or up and down and you can digitally zoom in on things. The two-way talk is clear but you will have to get used to a slight delay just like a doorbell camera. You can also use the microphone on the camera to monitor the room the camera is in. The privacy shutter is manual, so you must keep this in mind once it is moved into place. A subscription for cloud storage is available for a fee if you already have other Ring cameras; this is available for the whole system. A free 30-day subscription comes with the camera if you haven’t already subscribed. One thing to note is that with the subscription, you get advanced pre-roll, allowing it to capture footage up to six seconds early to capture motion events better. You can share this, like all Ring products, with others. The people you share with have basic functions. Complete control and setup are done by the Owner. Cons: • The camera doesn’t automatically rotate to track motion until it is out of range. • Mechanism for Privacy can’t be disengaged remotely • No Battery backup • No SD card slot for keeping videos or snapshots locally at the camera. • This version is only for indoor use. Pros: • Easy to setup • Easy to use • Good quality build • Works seamlessly with other Ring products. • Small and attractive • HD quality of video and snapshots • The microphone and speakers are good quality • Ring is a trusted and reliable brand for home security • Can share with other members. • Wide angle view with only slight fish-eye distortion This is a nice, attractive unit and can cover a large area. It works well with other Ring products. It works well with good Pan-Tilt control and a microphone and speaker. I would like to see a remote control privacy feature and local SD storage. And who wouldn’t like even higher resolution, like 4k or 12 MP? But even without these other features, I would recommend this indoor camera system.

Installation Setting up the Ring camera was incredibly straightforward. The package came with clear instructions and all the necessary tools, so I didn’t have to run to the hardware store for extra supplies. The app walks you through every step of the setup, from mounting the camera to connecting it to Wi-Fi. Even someone who isn’t particularly tech-savvy would find it easy to install. I also appreciated the versatility of the mounting options. The camera can be installed almost anywhere, whether it’s a wall, ceiling, or even a flat surface. I chose to position it above my front door for a clear view of the entryway, and it provides excellent coverage. Video Quality The video quality is outstanding. The camera offers crisp, clear HD footage, even in low-light conditions. The night vision mode is a game-changer—it provides a clear view of my property even in complete darkness. Whether it’s a sunny day or a rainy evening, the camera consistently delivers high-quality video. The wide-angle lens captures a broad area, so I don’t have to worry about any blind spots. I can see everything from my driveway to the porch with a single camera, which makes it incredibly efficient. Features What sets the Ring camera apart are its smart features. The motion detection is highly accurate, and I can customize the sensitivity and zones to avoid false alarms. For example, I’ve adjusted it to ignore cars passing by on the street and only alert me when someone steps onto my property. The two-way audio feature is another favorite. I can talk to visitors at my door or deter potential intruders, even when I’m not home. The audio is clear, and there’s minimal lag, which makes interactions seamless. The integration with the Ring app is intuitive and user-friendly. I receive instant notifications whenever motion is detected, and I can view live footage or past recordings with just a few taps. The ability to review footage from anywhere gives me an added sense of security, especially when I’m traveling. Subscription and Cloud Storage I opted for the Ring Protect subscription plan, which offers cloud storage for recorded footage. It’s reasonably priced, and having access to recordings is invaluable. Whether I need to check on a delivery or review an incident, it’s all stored securely in the cloud. Design and Durability The camera’s design is sleek and modern, blending seamlessly with my home’s exterior. It’s also weather-resistant, which is essential for outdoor use. I’ve had it through a few rainstorms already, and it’s held up perfectly without any issues. Final Thoughts Overall, I’m thrilled with my Ring camera. It’s reliable, easy to use, and packed with features that make home security simple and effective. Whether you’re looking for a way to monitor your property, communicate with visitors, or just add a layer of protection to your home, this camera is an excellent choice. I highly recommend it to anyone considering a security camera—it’s worth every penny for the peace of mind it provides.

The picture is clear enough for the purpose and the night vision is as well. I love the ability to rotate it and to close the cover and turn it off and also to listen and talk through it. It would be nice if there was a battery backup for power outages.

I am new to home camera systems as I've never had one before but recently with package delivery problems plus wanting to know who is at the front door when knocking before I answer along with some street facing security, I figured it was time to give it a try. This review is from the perspective of not only a RING newbie but someone new to home surveillance. Arriving in a small, compact box inside you will find the Ring pan and tilt camera, a decently length power cord and a wall adapter. Also included is a snap on stabilizing mount and a wall mount with screws so basically you're good to go however you want to use/mount it. You get a few small pamphlets but really all setup is via a QC code. I decided I wanted the "full" Amazon experience (since they own RING) and opted to update and use my Fire HD 10 tablet which is a ~3yr old 11th generation model as my primary monitoring device. Once updated, downloading the Ring app was easy and as soon as you create an account which is mandatory, you can set up your camera via the QC code which was the first problem as my Fire HD tab could not focus on the incredibly small QC code. I tried from many angles. I even took a picture of it and enlarged it with my phone to try and capture it that way to no avail. I ended up just having to manually punch in the number which in hindsight was much easier than scanning the code. Once punched in, you make sure your Ring camera is near your router and setup is a breeze. It finds and links to it automatically with the tablet Bluetooth and will sync it to the network you're using. Be warned, these are only 2.4ghz devices and do not support 5.0ghz so make sure you're either using an older router or have dual band set up. Once synced and setup, you can adjust the various settings you want (home / away modes, live vs delayed feed, pan/tilt settings, etc...). I set it up in its dedicated location and since it is wall powered, it can be left unattended. I really like the fact it uses a USB-C to USB-A cable and standard USB-A power adapter as this gives you plenty of flexibility not only in cable run length but if you want to power it off a USB hub. Once I placed it where I needed it, I was able to immediately pull up my feed and see my front door, driveway and a bit more. The camera has a very wide angle. The app is more than quick enough even on my 11th gen Fire HD tablet. I suspect it would be much quicker on an Apple or faster Android device but for my needs it works fine. As always, nothing is perfect. I do wish it was in color, but the 1080p picture was good enough. I like that I can monitor it via the tablet and my PC. My main issue is there is no PC or Mac native program and everything has to be done via the Ring website which makes it a bit cumbersome and obtuse. If there is an app for mobile devices, there should be a stand alone application for PCs and Macs. I'm not a huge fan of a lack of direct local streaming mode. Everything has to funnel through the cloud back to Ring and then to you. There needs to be a direct Wi-Fi/LAN only mode to conserve uplink bandwidth and more important localize your privacy options if all you want to do is monitor the cameras and that's it. You do get a free month of Ring Protect that allows you to save and review videos along with other features but if you opt not to pay monthly, you only have real time/delayed video and it still has to be uploaded/streamed to Ring and then re-sent to your various devices (in my case, Fire HD and PC). If the Ring camera was in color, had a native PC or Mac program and a way to select localized streaming only, this would be near perfect. Alas, it lacks these three things but overall I'm generally content with this first step into home security and most likely after my trial period is over I will just use it for real time streaming of my front door/area and that's it.

The Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam offers 1080 HD Video in color. It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the video showing in black and white instead of color. Please ensure that you have the proper settings enabled on your mobile device, tablet, or PC for optimal video quality. You can also enable Color Night Vision under the Device Settings tab in the Ring app. Please follow these steps to enable Color Night Vision:
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (☰).
      Tap "Devices."
Select the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam that you want to adjust.
      Select "Device Settings."
      Select "Video Settings."
Toggle on the switch for "Color Night Vision."

In my pursuit of a discreet yet effective indoor security solution, the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Security Cam has proven to be a commendable choice. Its sleek black design integrates seamlessly into various interior aesthetics, offering both form and function. The camera’s 360° horizontal pan and 169° vertical tilt capabilities provide comprehensive coverage, ensuring that no corner is left unmonitored. The 1080p HD video quality delivers clear and detailed footage, while the color night vision enhances visibility in low-light conditions . The two-way talk feature facilitates real-time communication, adding an extra layer of interaction and security. Additionally, the customizable motion detection zones allow for tailored monitoring, reducing unnecessary alerts . While certain advanced features, such as 24/7 recording and person detection, require a Ring Protect subscription, the core functionalities of the camera remain robust and reliable . The setup process was straightforward, and the integration with the Ring app offers intuitive control over the device. In summary, the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Security Cam delivers a balanced blend of design, functionality, and performance. It serves as a dependable component of a comprehensive home security system, providing peace of mind with its thoughtful features and user-friendly interface.

These are very easy to install. Just plug into an outlet (10 ft cord) and connect to the Ring app by scanning the device QR code. If you already have a Ring device, you just add a device in the app. It can be free standing or mounted. I suggest trying the device free standing until you decide on the best viewing angle. This is an indoor camera. Ring offers Basic (one device), Plus and Pro plans which store data in the cloud for 180 days. Without a plan subscription you will only see live view events and won’t have a video recording. NOTE: Ring says this connects to a 2.4GHz network but wit works fine on 5GHz for me. In the Ring app you can adjust settings for this device. One of the settings is for colored night vision. It really doesn’t add much, if any, color. Ring needs to work on this feature. Clarity is great in light, but the night vision clarity is so-so. Another setting is to capture people only and we also set that feature. The motorized pan-tilt and 360-degree coverage is a great feature if it actually tracked. It reminds me of BB-8. It whirls around but doesn’t track a person. We put our cam in the garage for now. The two-way radio with noise cancelling is handy. Sound quality is very good. The cam also works with Alexa if you wish to setup that feature. We have several Ring devices and they all do their job of watching our property. This device needs to track people and have better night vision. Then it would be truly great.

I picked up the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Security Cam on sale, and it was a fantastic deal. Setup was super easy, and I love that I can move the camera around the house as needed. The 360° pan and tilt control gives full-room coverage, which is great for checking in on pets while I’m away. The video quality is clear, and the two-way talk feature works really well—being able to hear and speak through the camera adds a lot of value, especially if you already use other Ring devices. Overall, highly recommend this as a flexible, affordable addition to any Ring setup.

I have about 40 Ring cameras/products/models purchased over the years. I generally sacrifice picture quality for ease of use with Amazon/Ring Security/ and other IFTTT links. However, the picture quality of this product is far superior to any of Ring's previous efforts. The colors are more vivid and the viewable field is definitely larger when the camera is at rest. The pan and tilt is a game changer. I dont think the camera is 360, probably about 340, but that is being nitpicky!. The pan-tilt is a little sluggish from the app, but I believe that is just latency with Wifi. Otherwise, as a Ring person, I have been waiting for this product and it delivers. The next product I have been anxiously awaiting is their announced indoor drone product. Looking forward to the functionality it will hopefully provide!

Useful camera views, but missing some automation

Over the past few years I've been through every iteration of home automation , video doorbells, and stick-up cameras. I eventually landed on the Ring range, because of their variety of camera options - plug-in , hard-wired and battery means I can place a camera on demand pretty much anywhere I need one around the perimeter and interior of my property. One primary need is to keep an eye on our dog while we are out of the house - of course I could cover every possible angle with multiple cameras in the main rooms, but its much more flexible (and cost effective) to have a single camera that you can move around remotely Enter the Ring pan and tilt camera. One thing to state up front - this is not technically a new camera. It's the exact sane camera as the existing Ring plug-in indoor camera (the new one with the sliding privacy cover) , and the pan+tily feature comes from the mount. The mount is a plug-in only for obvious power reasons, and slots into the existing battery slot in the back of the camera. So if you have cameras that you want to move about, you might want to consider just getting the mount and upgrading your existing cameras. Beyond the hardware, the camera functions 90% the same as every other Ring camera - you access it through the Ring app, and can configure a wide area of motion detection features, alerts, sensitivity settings as well as being able to review the event timeline. *Key Point Here*. If you are new to Ring, please be aware that Ring does not offer a continuous 24x7 record option on ANY of their product. They are all motion / event driven, with a subsequent recording clip that you can adjust the duration up to 2 mins in length When you power on the camera, it swivels around its full range of motion to make sure it's placed correctly and then lands back at its home-position. When accessing the camera through the app, you get the regular Ring camera live-view, but with some extra navigation options to pan the camera up/down/left right. This part works pretty well, and allows me to full scan the entire length of the house from a central point, and a single camera. My only minor complaint is probably more about the software features than the camera itself - although you can manually pan the camera , there is no automation or 'sweep' - so if you want a different view you have to manually move it. Same for the zoom , if you want to change the view you have to move the camera to where you want and then pinch-zoom-the screen. Maybe this is just muscle memory because every articulated camera I have ever used has always been PTZ (Pan, Tilt, ZOOM) in the controls - so just be aware that the controls are PT and you have to Z with a different gesture / control. All in all this camera does the job for me - I'd like some more options to do with simplifying the controls, or automating the view, and of course an option for 24x7 recording - but as it is its a welcome addition to my Ring setup, and does the job of multiple cameras in a single unit.
