Easy to install

Only problem is that the battery on my device last about 2 months with minimal usage settings. Also, you can carry this device As you move to different apartments over the time.

Installation is very easy and requires only a screw driver to remove the existing peephole from your door. Make sure to check with your leasing office to make sure that it's okay for you to install this. The unit is secured together by sandwiching the door between the outside camera and the battery pack on the inside of the door. On top of having the video camera, the original peep hole functionality is maintained as well (that's what that top bulge is). The only reason I didn't give it a 5/5 was because of its slightly finicky connection. It sometimes takes a while to turn on when viewing and doesn't always connect on the first shot. Also, if your internet cuts out, you may want to restart it by removing and reinserting the battery. Other than that, I'd say it was well worth it, especially at the $70 sale price I got it for.

I’m not super handy but I had this installed in 15 minutes. The little tool Ring provided helped me remove the existing peephole lens in minutes. The cam integrated with my Ring app and Alexa devices easily. I took off one star because the peephole itself could be clearer.

It's usually someone you know they say. Although not a friend but someone who has access to my purse. The peep hole camera gives me comfort but you really only see the person at your door if they are close. Otherwise the clarity could be better for me. Only three feet away it's hard to make out who the person is unless it's a neighbor. This is a start. A good start.

Wasn't sure how good it would be. So far, so good, but it does have it's limit. Although it can "see" far, it doesn't do well at night when I'd like it to "see" my car which is directly in front of the door (about 15-20 feet) where this is installed. During the day, it's fine.... at night.... forget it...!!! I'm going to have to install a light to have it "see" that far.

Just charge the battery the day before installation. Pair this with a Chime or Chime Pro and you are set. If this is your only device, recording costs about $3 - $4 a month. Now you can know who stole your amazon off your porch and deal with it accordingly. Wink Wink.

You can adjust it to whatever viewing area you want. It alerts you even when someone or something isn’t right in front of your door( ie the wind or even a bird). I plan on purchasing more Ring products. My family and I are extremely satisfied.
