Motion detection is useless. A couple times it caught my backpack as I entered the house, never me. Usually the UPS guy was in his truck. First battery was a dud. After essentially begging they sent me another. Took 2 weeks to convince them. Second battery is fine. I don't subscribe - no reason to store the back of the UPS guys head from 20 feet away, so nothing is recorded. It's basically a live feed device I can reach from my PC or phone. Meh. I expected better - I don't see how except very specific circumstances this would be useful for most people. No returns during COVID or else it would have gone back, most likely.

When i check the video, it shows a car passing by and the ring only has the end part of the car on video. Also when someone enters my door, the ring only have the person already partly in the doorway and does not get the face of the person. Not very useful

We understand how important it is to be able to hear and speak with visitors at your door with the Ring Peephole Cam. The two-way audio is an invaluable feature of the Ring Peephole Cam. We can definitely assist you with this today to ensure your Ring device is performing optimally.
It sounds like the audio quality is not as clear as expected. A poor wifi connection can often cause Ring device issues, including with recording or capturing audio. We recommend following these steps to check your Ring device's signal strength:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the top menu (☰), then Devices.
Choose your doorbell or camera device.
Tap the Device Settings tile.
Tap Device Health.
Under the Network section, you'll see your device's signal strength.
If your signal strength (RSSI) is amber or red, your Ring device likely has a poor connection to your location's wifi. Try moving your wifi router closer to your Ring device.
Visit our support center for more information.
