The notifications are constant if you don't subscribe for the recording service. Even after adjusting sensitivity and zone of monitoring. I don't live on top of a street and it alerts for anything larger than a motorcycle going past 30 or more feet away.

Your Ring Peephole Cam comes with a very powerful motion detection sensors that are constantly scanning the areas they've been set to monitor. We agree it's vital that your device detect accurate motion within the monitored zones, so you can be alerted when someone is at your front door.
Ring's Motion Frequency algorithm is an internal program that runs inside your Ring device. It analyzes the traffic patterns of detected motions, looking for repetitive patterns. The Motion Frequency controls (found under the Motion Settings in your Ring app) are used to adjust the Motion Frequency Algorithm based on the individual circumstances of your monitored area. Motion Frequency controls have three settings that can be changed at will and are useful under a variety of conditions.

Stopped people from trying to open our door

It is easy to use, even my 80 year old mother uses the doorbell we purchased for her with ease. Talking to the person who is trying to open our front door while we are not there is HUGE. Yelling at them to STOP - got their attention! A man tried our door about 2 weeks ago and on Friday, Dec 29, 2023 a woman tried our door. Best investment!

I remember opening and finding the seal broke and another one put on top. Which I found very strange. Asides from that it's not Ring's fault it's Best Buys. It took me a day in a half to figure this out, and I have to say that I am quite annoyed. How could someone do something like this?

Detects NOTHING unless it is 1ft. in front of it

Camera will not even detect a person outside of the glass screen door. you have to open the screen door and stand 1 foot in front of camera to have it EVENTUALLY detect you. WORTHLESS

As a reference: Screens and storm doors in front of the device may impact motion detection performance and camera field of view.

No returns after 1 month of purchase! Bought for elderly parents security. Do not know what to do with the product!

The Ring Peephole Cam should provide you and your loved ones with peace of mind. Once charged, the battery should provide sufficient power to set up and use your Ring device. We understand the situation you are in, and are here to offer our help.
The Ring Quick Release battery should be charged until the LED lights on the device turn solid green. This indicates a full charge.
To ensure proper functionality, please ensure the Flex Cable is securely fitted into your device. Additionally, the Ring quick release battery should 'click' into place.

Doesn’t detect movement

I’ve gone through all the settings and adjusted everything and it still doesn’t fix it.

It started to act up a few months back....giving a minutes long delay before alerting us to detected motion. Did not realize it was beginning to fail. About three months short of three years, it failed completely. I tried lots of different trouble-shooting, and ended up calling customer service. The battery appears to be charging and shows a green light, but they don't offer a replacement battery for the V1 model any longer, so no option except to replace the doorbell. Customer service DID offer a code for a significant discount on a new doorbell....so I'm trying again with hopes that they've worked out some of the kinks from the first product release. Had the product not failed at what I consider such a young age....and continued to perform like when it was new....I'd probably give it 5 stars. Let's hope the new one I just ordered offers a 5 star experience! I can see the options below under "help us break it down" are insufficient to provide an accurate review. It only asks about sound, video, and mobile app quality.....but nothing about actual product durability.
