A smart and useful option

We just recently added a second Ring camera to our home, expanding our Ring ecosystem. The Lithium-ion Battery is fantastic. It’s super easy to use. You can charge it via micro-USB cable or with Ring’s battery pack cradle (which I recommend as this is much faster). The battery I use is for the Outdoor Spotlight Cam, and it has the Quick Release feature which is unbelievably convenient when it comes time to replace. And of course, the Ring app alerts you when the battery is running low and needs replacement/charging.

I have two per camera and together they last about 2 weeks before needing recharged. Swapping them out is easy, and each battery comes with a cable to charge it. I purchased a 2 port plug so it would only take one of the outlets on my power strip, and they charge in a few hours.

Having longevity in a battery-powered security device is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are here to provide you with some education to resolve the battery life issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in cold weather. As cold weather sets in, lithium-ion batteries like those used in Ring Doorbells and Security Cameras may experience several issues, including trouble holding a charge, running out of power faster than normal, or losing functionality. Knowing at what temperature batteries will start to be impacted can help you take the necessary steps to keep your device working. When the temperature drops to:
36°F (3°C): The battery may not hold a charge as effectively, resulting in having to charge the unit more frequently.
32°F (0°C): The battery may not charge at all. Even hardwired configurations may not charge the battery.
-5°F (-20.5°C): The battery may stop working completely until temperatures warm up.
When it gets cold and your device's battery runs out, bring your entire device inside and charge the battery with a USB cord. This will allow your device to warm up while the battery charges.

Our camera is the spotlight one that has a slot for a backup battery. This has cut down on me having to climb a ladder and replace battery's. Also we never have to have the cameras down while we are waiting for batteries to charge.

I’ve been using them for 22 days s in my video cameras outdoor. The motion alerts always going off cause I haven’t learned how to set my alerts properly. I always am constantly viewing live which drains more battery. After constant use I have used 50 percent on one battery in 23 days. With my backup batteries I’m hoping I’ll get two months before needing to recharge. It should be even better when I stop viewing 24/7 and set alerts better. Glad I made the purchase.
