A second battery is a must have for Ring

Mine last over tw0 months before needing a charge. The Ring unit uses one battery until it gets low and then switched to the other battery. This gives you plenty of time to charge the battery that is low while still having full power and never losing video.

Having longevity in a battery-powered security device is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are here to provide you with some education to resolve the battery life issue you mentioned in your review.
The Ring Quick Release Battery is a rechargeable battery pack for your compatible Ring Video Doorbell, Ring Security Camera, or Ring Solar Floodlight, so you'll always have backup power ready to go. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal performance.
The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" often can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app you can:
Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity.
Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones."
Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.
You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery. To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app:
Tap menu (≡) on the top left of the Dashboard. Tap "Devices."
Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check. Tap "Power Settings "to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage."
Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency" and "Video Recording Length."

Battery Power X2

Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.You can never have too many ring batteries, only one comes with the camera, so I bought a second one for added peace of mind, with a second battery, the camera last much longer because of the two battery system, it works off one at a time, so when one runs out you still have another to keep the system up, this way you can charge one at a time.

Ring Battery to Extend Camera Life

Ring cameras provide the capacity for two batteries, extending the time between changing out batteries to keep the camera operational. Once charged to 100% via the included charging cable, the battery was installed in the camera and worked as planned.

Back up Battery

We got of camera powered by plug now, i wish that the ring cameras would build in a charger... i think it's one of the things they want to wait until you like the product for a few years, so you will buy the new cameras that have a charger built in. Sucks, but overall the battery is good, it does take a long time to charge. Depending on activity, low activity lasts over a month! Frequent activity 1 to 2 days.
