I couldn't wire in my ring, so got a second battery for a back up to swap batteries when one needs to be recharged.

Long lasting battery

The only reason why this review is 4 out of 5 because of the amount of time it takes to charge (approximately 5 hours). Hence, to have an extra battery just in case and you won't have to go through the worry of why it takes so long to charge.

It’s nice to have a second one so the system always works - just put in charged battery and leave original battery charging fully.

The battery depletes at a very fast rate and you may have to charge it. Which makes the device inoperable to use while charging. A spare battery fully charged will make it easy and simple to get your camera up and running with minimal downtime.

As cold weather sets in, lithium-ion batteries like those used in Ring doorbells and security cameras may experience several issues, including trouble holding a charge, running out of power faster than normal, or losing functionality. Knowing at what temperature batteries will start to be impacted can help you take the necessary steps to keep your device working. When the temperature drops to:
36°F (3°C): The battery may not hold a charge as effectively, resulting in having to charge the unit more frequently.
32°F (0°C): The battery may not charge at all. Even hardwired configurations may not charge the battery.
-5°F (-20.5°C): The battery may stop working completely until temperatures warm up.
When it gets cold and your device's battery runs out, bring your entire device inside and charge the battery with a USB cord. This will allow your device to warm up while the battery charges.

It helps to keep me from getting on a ladder to change the battery out if the solar panel doesn’t charge for some reason.

It makes it nice to have a charged battery ready when the battery gets low on the doorbell. That way there's no interruption in monitoring.

Always have an extra battery around so my system is never down. Strongly recommended to have an extra battery charged at all times.

Charges easily and I swap it out with another battery in my Ring doorbell. I don't think a battery should be this expensive though.

I wanted a backup battery for my ring doorbell.

Now when the battery starts getting low I change out with the alternate battery fully charged. Work perfectly.

Once fully charged it lasts about a month on an active camera. Using two in the spotlight cam even allows longer lasting power to the camera.
