I recommend buying a second battery if your ring device isn’t hard wired.

The interchangeability between devices is excellent. You must buy 2 to have continuous power; you won't be disappointed.

Spare for my camera, even though it’s hardwired the battery drains fast and doesn’t trickle charge fast enough because I Live in a high foot traffic area. If I turn down the sensitivity then I don’t get alerts when someone is actually at my door, but it will alert when a car drives by down the street.

So we picked up the Ring 2 since you can just go off battery packs. This is a must if that is the case for you. Charging takes a good 5-6 hours. And here in IL, I'm only getting about three weeks of use per charge. According to Ring, it's partially all the movement and partially the cold temps on the battery. Both excuses annoy me but that's another conversation.
