Having a spare to charge up prevents down time. And a single charge lasts for a good about of time. Super easy to swap out and charge.

It takes pretty much a full day to charge depleted battery, which you'll need to when you get it. The battery life seems to be quite good. I don't use the motion lights much which probably helps, but it's been a over month and the first battery is still in green, so the camera isn't near tapping into this battery yet. I'm hopeful with two batteries I can go a good two+ months without recharging, so I don't have to deal with getting out the ladder in the winter.

I highly recommend having extra batteries on hand! We bought the charger at Best Buy as well and it’s been so wonderful!
