It sounds like your device is not performing as you expected. When the battery in one of your battery-operated Ring cameras or doorbells falls below a 30% charge, your Ring app will warn you with a low battery notification. This notification can be be seen in three different areas of the app:
You’ll receive a low battery message similar to the motion notices you currently receive.
You’ll see a red Low Battery icon on your device dashboard.
You’ll see a red dot that opens into a Battery Tip on your event timeline.

The more events captured by your Ring device (including live views), the more your battery is used. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your Motion Settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, change Smart Alerts to Standard or Light, or adjust the direction of your Ring device, so it doesn't detect as much motion.

The micro-USB cable can be plugged into any USB power source, such as a computer. Your battery will take around five to eight hours to fully charge, depending on whether the USB cable is plugged into a USB port or into a wall outlet.
