It helps to keep me from getting on a ladder to change the battery out if the solar panel doesn’t charge for some reason.

Stay away from the knockoffs on other websites. These are authentic from RING and Best Buy always have them in stock.

Always have an extra battery around so my system is never down. Strongly recommended to have an extra battery charged at all times.

With both batteries you get several days of life. I also have the solar panels to charge them so I dont have to remove the batteries.
