Would not buy these eats up batteries

Did everything ring suggested I do but could not get the sensitivity down to where the lights wouldn't turn on so often. Lights would come on even during the daylight. My home is surrounded by trees and any movement would trigger the lights to come on.

To get the most life out of your batteries, Ring recommends at least three to four hours of direct sunlight, depending on your usage. Make sure there are no obstructions that could cast a shadow on your solar power device, such as an extended roof, tree branches, or bushes. If your installation area is frequently very cloudy or gets a lot of rain or snow, this could limit the amount of sunlight that your solar power device receives.

This thing takes D batteries and has the illumination of an old flashlight. Haven't see how long the batteries last .. but honestly anything LED that's powered by the sun will be cheaper and last a lot longer... totally weak and not a good purchase for the price point and name brand.

Ring Floodlight Battery is designed to last around a year on one set of batteries under normal use. Battery life is dependent on device settings, usage, and other factors such as the weather. Brightness may decrease as battery life is depleted. If you'd like to change the brightness of your Ring Smart Lights, you can do so under the Smart Lights Manual "Lights" Control in your Ring App. The Brightness control slider will adjust the brightness of your Smart Lights when they are turned on. The slider ranges from "1" or the dimmest setting to "10" for the brightest setting. Feel free to email me directly to further discuss the way your Ring Smart Lighting Floodlight works.

It burns through batteries like crazy. We’ve tried fixing the settings to prevent it from being triggered during the day but it still dies after less than a month. Maybe it’s a bad unit, who knows. But definitely wouldn’t recommend based on this experience.
