ONLY good with Alexa
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for a light that I only use during the winter (to light up my outdoor firebox area). It worked well for 3 months last year after I purchased it. It never worked with Google, but there were workarounds that were sufficient. However, I just discovered that in May, Ring "updated" their software and it no longer works with smart things, iOt, IFTT or any service OTHER than Alexa. This light is now a useless brick. It can only be turned on with the app on my phone or an Alexa device (which I don't use). Only purchase a Ring product if you plan to use Alexa (Amazon).

Posted .Hi Tyler,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the Ring Smart Lighting Battery Floodlight.
We understand how important it is for your device to work properly to shine lights above your driveway, side yard, and other high-traffic areas for increased home security. The Ring Smart Lighting Battery Floodlight was designed to provide light with motion detection up to a 180-degree field of view. We would love to provide some tips and tricks to ensure your device works optimally for your home's environment.
The more motion events are triggered by your Ring Smart Lights, the more your battery is used to power the device. If your device is reacting to an excessive number of events each day, you may find that your batteries drain faster than expected.
To prevent excessive activity, you can take the following actions:
Adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity.
Disable certain products during specific hours of the day.
Change Smart Alerts to "Standard" or "Light."
Adjust the direction of your Ring product.

Non sense flood light
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful but non-sense. It requires regular batteries, so you can’t count on it when you need it the most. That’s besides the cost of batteries

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited when I got this product but was disappointed even before I could try it. When I bought it I didn't say clearly that you need the ring bridge for it to work without the bridge you can't even try it. Also, I thought it was a rechargeable battery just like the ring doorbell but no, for this one you need the D battery.

Posted .Hello Linda,
Thank you for leaving a review. Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products. It is important to us that you have all the necessary information to ensure that your setup experience is seamless. We truly value your feedback, simply because it helps us improve the product from a consumer standpoint.
Based on your review, it seems like your Ring Smart Light Floodlight is not working as intended. If this is the case, we recommend checking a couple of things. There are several possibilities. Check the following items.
Check your batteries.
Check your Auto Shut Off control in your device controls in the Ring app. You may have incorrectly set the time on the control.
Take yourself out of the equation. Leave the area for 10 minutes to give the lights time to reset without you triggering them and then return and check the lights. For more troubleshooting tips, please see our help center article: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025667012-Troubleshooting-Guide-for-Ring-Smart-Lights-Floodlight-Battery.

Posted .Hello Rccola,
Thank you for taking the time to share your Ring Floodlight experience with us. We understand the importance of having the batteries last in your home’s environment, so these support calls are not necessary. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with information to resolve your concern.
To get the most life out of your batteries, Ring recommends at least three to four hours of direct sunlight, depending on your usage. Make sure there are no obstructions that could cast a shadow on your solar power device, such as an extended roof, tree branches, or bushes. If your installation area is frequently very cloudy or gets a lot of rain or snow, this could limit the amount of sunlight that your solar power device receives.
Here is a helpful article that elaborates on some factors that could be causing the unnecessary battery drainage: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041789191-Troubleshooting-Unexpected-Battery-Drain-in-Ring-Solar-Smart-Lights. Customers can expect about a year of battery life when they keep the brightness at 50% and have the lights activate in 30 second intervals.
We invite you to reach out at https://community.ring.com/if any additional information is needed regarding the Floodlight. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences with Ring.

Posted .Hello Mike,
We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback on your experience with the battery powered Ring Smart Lighting Floodlight.
At Ring, we understand the importance of getting the most out of the battery life of your devices. We would like to assist in getting your device set up for optimal performance so that you can enjoy it for years to come.
There are a variety of factors that affect battery life, including battery brand, light settings, and the weather. It sounds like your motion light is activating during the day, causing the batteries to drain faster than intended. To reduce daytime activation, set light sensors on devices to a low setting so the lights only turn on in the dark.
For additional tips and tricks on prolonging the battery life of your Ring Smart Lighting Floodlight, please visit our support center: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360031677311-Battery-Life-and-Your-Smart-Light-Battery-Devices.

Posted .Hello John,
It is important to us that you are able to depend on your Ring Floodlight's motion detection. A properly positioned Floodlight will detect motion based on your motion zones. This way, you'll always have an illuminated area for your security and convenience.
If you haven't already, please ensure your device is mounted at 9 feet off the ground. This way, you can properly adjust the motion sensor to fit your needs. Once properly positioned, you'll notice the Motion Zones in the Ring app apply more evenly.
Please reach us when you get a moment. We'd be happy to help you make the necessary adjustments.
All the best,
Marlom at Ring.

Decent light, limited settings with multiple light
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the convenience of having it all in the same app for my camera doorbell, but the linking of multiple devices doesn’t work as it should (and all Ring devices). I have 3 of these in my backyard and also an extra Motion Sensor for the porch door to trigger the yard lights. However to use the sensor I group the lights in a group. When you do that the setting to “not come on during daytime” does not work so the lights come on all day long draining the batteries in just a few weeks! Pretty disappointed in the function of these multiple devices working together. Decent lights overall and I like how you can change the brightness (although still not too bright) but just beware of the limited settings you might have if linking more than one of these.

Posted .Hi Best Buy customer,
Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products. We really appreciate your feedback. Our team is always striving to improve our products and their performance. In the meantime, when you go to your Light Group and select your Motion Sensor, you will have the option for Linked Devices. Selecting this will give you the different Lights that are in this group, and then you select the light toggle for the specific light you want to activate. Doing so will give you the option of setting a time when this Motion Sensor should activate this Light. This should help with only turning on the lights at night rather than all day.
Sincerely,
Ivan from Ring
