The Ring Video Doorbell is compatible with AC-powered door chimes operating between 8-24 volts. As long as you have a compatible setup, and your device is properly installed, your doorbell will receive a trickle charge from the wires. This trickle charge will help prolong the battery life on your device. To get the most out of your battery life, it is important to fully charge your device prior to installing it.
If your Ring device is not registering a hardwired connection, please check the wires are still securely attached to the doorbell. Sometimes if the wires are not secure, they can detach when mounting the doorbell. When properly attached, the button on the front of the Ring Video Doorbell should illuminate with a white light to indicate that it is receiving power.
Ensuring you get optimal battery life from your device is our top priority, so you do not have to recharge it daily.
