This time is no exception. This comes after a friend told me she got one that was refurbished after paying for a new one.

Missing Parts

When using the Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release), one should be able to connect to the camera in a matter of seconds. This counts when initiating a Live View as well as when motion is detected or someone pushes the doorbell button.
It is great to hear that our support was able to provide you with a replacement. If you've set up the new doorbell and are still experiencing issues with initiating a Live View, it may be related to the distance. Distance plays a big part in the overall connectivity and quality of the live video, however, there are other factors to consider. Nearby interference, network limitations or a combination of both can also affect your doorbell's ability to connect to quality video in a timely manner. For example, if your doorbell is mounted on a surface that is made out of heavy-duty materials, an otherwise strong signal may diminish as it passes through those. Materials such as metal, brick, and cement could prove to be a challenge. Do you happen to have your doorbell mounted on or near something like this?

We do provide information to our customers about the optional Ring Protect Plan within your welcome email, post set up and on our website.
While subscribed to one of our optional Ring Protect Plans, you will be able to access videos from every motion and live view event for up to 60 days (US). You can also access, download, and share past Ring videos. Without this service, you will still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone as well as have access to the Live View feature. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of a seamless installation and setup process, as this allows you to start using your Ring Video Doorbell (2020 Release) right away. What you describe is not the experience we want you to have, rest assured we hear you and are here to offer our help.
While not comprehensive, the three most common causes of failure to complete the setup (after entering an incorrect password) are your Ring device being too far from your wifi router, having a problem with your internet connection, or some type of issue related to your wifi modem or router.
If you've already brought your Ring doorbell inside next to your router and the setup continues to fail, try rebooting your modem and/or router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, the devices like to be rebooted about once a month for optimal performance.
To reboot these devices, follow the instructions below:
-Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don't just turn it off)
-If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them
-Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in
-Wait for your internet to be restored
-Confirm that your internet has been restored by connecting another device to your wifi network and trying to access a website, then repeat the setup process for your Ring Doorbell.
