    This is my second spotlight cam, I purchased a plug in adapter for this one so I don't have to get on ladder to change batteries. My other one has a solar panel. Both provide coverage and lighting as expected, and have not had to change batteries since addeing solar to the one and power adapter to the other. Work great. They also work as expected without the solar panel/adapter, but then require periodic battery change out/recharge.
