Its closer to my router than my ring doorbell, yet the doorbell works much better. I returned because all it would tell me is that two pixelated blobs came in my backyard.

When the battery was low, I changed the battery but the last time when I changed with a new fully charged battery, the light didn't come on, I was very disappointed.

We understand how important it is to solve this for you. You should be able to recharge your Ring battery knowing your Spotlight Camera will function as expected once recharged. Please know we hear your concern and are here to help.
If your device isn't responding as expected, please try removing and then inserting the battery once more. A power cycle helps clear out most minor issues.
Should this not resolve the issue, please perform a hard reset of your device. To begin, insert a fully charged Ring battery into Spotlight Cam. Then, press and hold the set-up button on the top portion of the camera for 15 seconds. Once released, the camera will begin its reset process which will complete in a minute or so. This will help clear out any underlying software issues, and your device should function as before.

Also, it continues to say the battery compartment door is open when it definitely is closed. When it does work the video quality is very good.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Spotlight Camera picking up the correct motion. If this is the case, you may want to adjust your motion settings. Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. Sometimes loses WiFi connection but that’s a problem on my end not because of device. Light on it is fairly dim (low lumen) but to be expected on a non floodlight device. Siren is definitely loud enough to be heard.

It took us about two weeks to finally adjust the settings so we weren't getting blown up in notifications. Now everything is good to go. We also purchased the solar panels with it and haven't had to charge it at all
