The battery life could be better, but overall it's ok. I recommend getting a spare battery with the purchase of the camera for extended battery life of camera. The battery compartment has an additional slot for a spare battery, a left and right side. The camera will only use one side at a time and then automatically switch to the other side when one battery is no longer charged. Overall I am pleased with the purchase.

It allowed me to catch someone driving our neighborhood and raiding mailboxes looking for checks and deliveries. He denied his activity, and I was able to provide evidence to police of him opening and removing items from my mailbox as well as my neighbors across the street. Caught with undeniable evidence. He also had previous charges for home burglaries.

challenges with battery

I purchased the solar panel and it does not charge the battery for the full 24 hours. The camera works with the solar panel only in the day time when the sun is up. I would definitely recommend to purchase camera that is not wireless.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble keeping your Ring Spotlight Camera battery charged. If this is the case, you may want to adjust your motion settings. Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment and preserve battery life. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. Great service by the store! Camera and light worked great but siren and speaker did not work. Called Ring support, long story short they said it was defective and sent me another five days later. I was still able to use the camera until then. Rings support is A1 and always great. I ordered a black camera from Best Buy and Ring sent me a white one. Oh well! Overall very satisfied with the store, product and Rings support

Good Picture Quality, Would like more control

The only negatives i have is that you are limited to only 30 seconds of video capture when triggered by motion. It would be really nice if you could set that time to what you choose. Battery life has been pretty good. I have 4 of the cameras and I purchased 2 extra batteries. I monitor the battery life through the app and when one gets down to 30 - 40% i swap it out with one of the spare batteries. The camera's also will hold 2 batteries if you want longer life and are willing to purchase an extra battery.

Picture quality is okay, I wouldn’t be able to use to read a license plate off a car. I have seen other videos of cameras that have better clarity of pictures. I’ll keep this one for what I use it for. Make me feel a little more secure at home. Easy set up
