good value, simple set up
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was quick and easy. The instructions don't show this, but the bracket for the ball socket is a "star" screw but the screw driver they send you has a different end, and you just detach and flip it. To save battery life, I manually enable motion detection only at night or when I'm gone, and I only enable the flood light when I'm out of town. The night vision on on the live feed is great...you see everything. The camera has slots for two batteries (one in use, the other for backup) and comes with one battery (you can see the power level in the app)...it's been several weeks now and the charge has not dropped much. I did buy a second battery, but your need for it really depends on your usage. When winter comes I just don't want to have to mess around bringing a ladder out to the porch to change the battery. I paired this with the most basic Ring door bell camera...that camera is much lower resolution, but since anyone on the porch is also caught by this camera, it's fine for me.

Ring has made me feel more secure...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. And these cameras are fantastic. I already had the previous cameras, but the updated ca,eras with lights make a tremendous difference. Although I wish there was a way to keep them on consistently for a longer period, it is worth it to have these in areas of the house that may have blind spots or minimal lighting. One caveat to prepare people for is the fact that majority of the ring products don't have the greatest receiving radios for wireless signal. I had luckily updated my roter to the Netgear Orbi mesh system, but even with 3 satelites to blanket the width of my house, penetration through load bearing/steel walls is a task and a half for the Ring cameras to pick up. If your router/wifi signal isn't extremely strong outside, I highly recommend upgrading that first or pre-testing speeds where you intend on installing the cameras, prior to purchasing. You will not be happy if the wifi speed cannot provide a consistent connection for the ring. That will lead to black video or pixelated video. There is the ring range extender that can be purchase, but I opted for adding a satelite to my orbi over the ring range extension. That will have to be at your own discretion.

Excellent with day light but not so good in dark
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to setup and excellent pictures during the day. Since I installed on the outside wall of my house, during the night, the security light when turn on reflected off the wall and saturate the IR camera and get very poor image. Also, need the WiFi pro extension in order to connect to the two camera about 50 feet away from my wifi router.

I was suggested to buy for my protection since I'm now a widow and in a wheelchair. Having the feeling you can see who comes and goes is nice to have. Plus you csn save the recording.

Outdoor camera
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to monitor around house, know when packages are delivered, and see animal life (including a coyote near front door), Wish battery life was longer but solar power add-on is expensive and not usable for some locations. Battery is easy to change.

Battery compartment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is anyone else having issues closing the battery door on the outdoor security cameras ?? It is such a pain- I installed it up high in the waves and when changing battery (quite often) the battery door does not “click” in correctly ! Help

Good value & great piece of mind
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome camera with great picture & sound. I was worried about buying a wireless one because we didn't want to have to charge it all the time so we bought the solar panel charger & since our new house is in AZ, there is NO problem with the camera staying fully charged by the sun!

Great Wireless Camera
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your looking for wire free, easy to setup security camera with a great picture then you won't be disappointed with this unit. It took 15 minutes to setup and that includes opening the box, downloading the app to your phone and updating the firmware. I bought 4 of these units and 4 of Ring solar panels. The solar panel keep the battery charged so I didn't feel the need to have more then one battery. Connecting to my wireless router was very simple, I have one camera that is 75feet from the router and I have no issues connecting to it. The only issue is with the two way communication. Sometimes I'll get feedback and its hard to listen and talk at the same time. I bought them on sale and they came with an Echo dot so bonus for me. Here is a plus, if you pay for Rings premium service they will replace your camera if stolen but you must follow their guidelines to get this feature.

Solar Spotlight light camera wireless - just right
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this for over 2 years, and love the motion lights, camera alerts and chimes connected to it. I’m getting a pack of two more- and did I mention the solar panel keeps it charged? Never have I had to put in the 2nd battery.

Beat Security Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Ring security cameras, these are an addition to my Ring doorbell, I love having the ability to see my property anytime I want and that I am alerted whenever the camera detects movement, these cameras are a breeze to set up and have an audible siren and speakers so you can converse with the intruder (yell at them!) I give them two thumbs up. Also; I have dealt with Ring customer service and they are top notch! Highly recommend Ring products.

Great camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ring spotlight camera is an excellent easy to use camera the picture quality is amazing and it has a very wide angle. You’ll never miss a beat with the motion alerts and not to mention that two way voice feature where you can speak through your ring camera. Five stars for this

Works well...with good WiFi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Ring cameras do their job as long as you have the adequate WiFi needed in your house. My front of the house camera runs off the router that I have in my office, which is in the front of the house. The backyard camera runs off a WiFi range extender that I installed in the back room. You are not going to get the right performance from these cameras if you don't have a strong enough WiFi signal running through your house. So, if you live in a big home or have multiple cameras outside, you are going to have to extend your WiFi signal. I also have ADT cameras outside, and even the ADT installer put their own WiFi range extender in the house in order for the signal to reach outside! BTW, the Ring picture quality is FAR better than ADT. So, do not bother buying the Ring cameras if you have spotty WiFi. They just won't work right. As far as batter life goes, my batteries last about a month. Not one week like a lot of people say, and not the 6 months that Ring claims. All in all, I really like the ring products. But, like I said, make sure you have good WiFi, or be ready to buy a WiFi range extender.

Good not great
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got these on sale and they work good. only real negative is that if you can get them hardwired I would recommend that. Each camera comes with one battery that at full charge doesn't last as long as they say. so if using the battery I would suggest purchasing a second battery for each one.

Good security camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good camera overall, captured and recorded every detected motion. I sometimes have difficulty to activate the live view. The battery life is about 2 weeks with about 4 to 5 motion detection on daily basis. Battery took about 5 hrs to charge to I recommend to buy the second one. Installation is super easy.

Good camera for the cost
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great little cameras. Video is high resolution, and easy to make out faces. Light is bright enough for small area like a back porch. Very easy installation and set up. My only complaint is the plastic wall/ceiling attachment is kind of cheap for the cost.

Still Early, but…
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, pretty good! Bought these battery operated security cam lights for front and back of our house where we have no way to use hard wired alternatives. Been less than a month so far so I don’t know how long the batteries will last before needing recharging. I did not want to use a solar charger in front because of aesthetics, but was able to run a power chord from an outside outlet to the other unit (using an accessory chord and USB adapter ) out back where it is too shady for solar. Relatively pleased with the ease of setup, performance and flexibility in optioning, but wish I could preset a video zoom level versus only being able to do that when playing back videos.

2nd purchase.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love these cameras and their wire-free capabilities. When coupled with the solar panels for these devices and good device/battery management, there is no need to change out the battery. That being said - If your goal is to put batteries in and never need to change them out I would advise purchasing the extra battery and solar panel. If your device receives high frequency (motion) then you may have to set some good device practices to keep fully charged. I have one spotlight cam over looking a road that receives a lot of motion, coupled with the solar panel and extra battery, if I lessen the motion range or frequency for a day then my batteries are 100% charged. This is heavily dependent on the amount of direct sunlight received by the panels. The panel is worth the extra 50$ and the extra battery is worth the extra 30$.
