Ring claims that the battery last 6 months ... the battery lasts about 2 months and usually at the worst time ... when you’re not home. I would go with the wired only ...

The Ring Spotlight Cam is a High Definition (HD) security camera with spotlights designed to be mounted anywhere you need some extra security. Please know that we are here to resolve these concerns with you today.
Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble keeping your Ring Spotlight Camera battery charged. If this is the case, you may want to adjust your motion settings. Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment and preserve battery life. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. Great for backyard security

We added this second camera to our network and put it in our backyard. It’s nice to be able to check on my home from my iPhone anytime I want. Super easy to install and the rechargeable battery last a longtime without charging. I’ve had it for 3 weeks and it’s still at 70% strength.

I placed this camera in my back yard because I have an alley which anybody can jump my fence and take personal belongings from my home when I'm away. Peace of mind knowing it will record movement if detected and send notifications to me immediately. Good camera to have.

Lighting could be better.

The video is good but the lights aren’t near as bright and don’t reach as far as the floodlight camera. The lighting is the only downfall so far.

As a battery powered device, the lights on this camera will not be as bright as the hardwired Floodlight Camera's floodlights. However, the built-in spotlights should still provide you with sufficient lighting to help illuminate your videos at nighttime. We'd like to offer our help!
In order to get the most out of your Spotlight Camera, please ensure it is mounted at 9 feet off the ground. This allows the spotlights to illuminate a decent area of the ground. Additionally, you'll want to ensure the tilt of your device is optimized to work well for the environment that it is in.
