Why does it do that?

We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.
It sounds like your device may be experiencing a high volume of events. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring doorbell or security camera to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. In order to get proper motion detection, battery-powered cameras using passive infrared motion detection should not be placed facing a window or in front of a glass door.
When adjusting your motion zones, take note of any high-traffic areas, such as busy streets or sidewalks. If you receive too many motion alerts from your Ring device, you may have to adjust the motion zone so it does not include these areas.
If you have adjusted your motion zones to eliminate high traffic areas and are still experiencing a high volume of events, visit our support center for additional troubleshooting steps.

If a battery powered Camera doesn't work well with your home, you could look into the Spotlight Cam Plus Plug-In. You would not have to worry about accessing the Camera to change the battery as it plugs in for continuous power. The only thing that is lacking is the time it takes from the Ring notice of something that passed into the filed and being able to see i\t on the video is too long. should be quicker

You can cotrol the light, siren and microphone. No wiring needed. Just buy an extra forong lasting. (u can use 1 or 2 battery) I will recommend!

Took a few days to dial in the best motion zone settings, but overall it works as advertised. So far the battery life seems good as well.

I can use my fire TV for a live view which is nice too. I wish the snooze options were more customizable but not a deal breaker.

I plugged a solar panel to it and never have to worry about charging battery. Was a add-on to my existing camera system. I would recommend attaching solar panels to the battery camera’s. Very simple to install, very low maintenance.

It's quality is very good and has an extra spot for a second battery. We also added the solar panel. It keeps the battery at 100% all of the time. I highly recommend it. It works great.

Every 7 or 9 days I have to recharged the battery. I love the camera but it’s suck to keep taking it down just for the battery.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble keeping your Ring Spotlight Camera battery charged. If this is the case, you may want to adjust your motion settings. Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment and preserve battery life. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. Have it in my back yard with only path lights at night. The night vision only had an effective range of about ten feet. I plan to install flood lights to boost the visibility at night.

I mounted one out the second-floor window to look at the back yard and it still has excellent video coverage.

The online storage of video is nice and works well, although it does cost money after the 30 day free period. The only issue that I had was that some mounting equipment was missing from the box, and I had to PURCHASE a duplicate set.

There are sometimes when it misses a recording. There's also a delay on the alert. It does have a good picture and video.

Ring knows the importance of having the motion detection work as intended. It is a valuable feature that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.
Adjustable motion zones is enabled in all battery-powered Ring devices, and uses passive infrared (PIR) sensors to detect motion. By enabling you to adjust the sensitivity of your existing motion sensors, you can receive only the alerts that you care about most. Adjustable motion zones work by identifying visitors based on a change in temperature, and sending a signal to your smart device when it detects one. You can control the sensors' range and sensitivity using the controls in the Ring app. It is also optimized for low-power operations to save on battery power.
