When installing your Spotlight Cam, make sure all screws are firmly secured and not left loose. They capture detail enough to let you know when someone might be arriving or generally what someone is up to if you are not home. The quality is not so great to capture face detail or many car detail specifics.

Battery life drains pretty quick depending on your settings. This seemed to start recording right after something happened. For example, trash can blew into my car, video only caught after the trash can hit. Prefer nest which is “always on.” Wired version may be better, but was not a fan of this

We understand how important it is to obtain the best battery life from your home security devices. The Ring Spotlight Camera - Battery should deliver great service while providing genuinely useful battery performance. Our team is here to help find a solution.
If you haven't already, please visit the Power Settings tile in the Ring app. Here, you can adjust all the relevant settings which affect battery life. For example, you could adjust the Advanced Motion Settings to reduce motion from your trash can and passing vehicles, while conserving battery.
To find it, please launch the app and open the menu in the left-hand corner. Select the Devices tab and then select your Ring Spotlight Camera. The Power Settings tile will be listed on this page. Please follow the guidance within that tile to optimize your Ring battery.

It didn't really work for me though on the first couple of the night. The frost from the cold weather which is not that cold cuz I live in Houston, affected the quality of video. I got a Logitech circle 2 on sale and it's been working perfectly and no paid subscription is required.
