This lithium battery powered pair did the trick. I'll have to climb a ladder every couple of months (or every four months if you use two packs), but it's easy to pull out from the mounted unit.

Though it can be a little over sensitive with motion, and sometimes doesn't detect motion if going through the motion area multiple times within a span of a minute.

Works like a charm. Got the solar panel as well. No more charging battery and no interruptions in surveillance.

This device is intended to provide excellent service with lasting battery life. By adjusting a few device settings, you should be able to improve the battery life you are currently experiencing. We are here to help you learn which settings affect battery life.
The below-mentioned settings can be adjusted to optimize battery power:

As long as you have a strong WiFi signal this camera will work anywhere. The battery is pretty good with medium use. The solar panel will help this

No matter how much I adjusted the angle and sensitivity, I couldn't get the zones to work. It picked up all the cars driving by but often missed someone walking in the yard.

Also, purchased the solar panel and extra battery. It charges both batteries during the day and never runs out of power regardless of number of times camera/lights come on in the night. It also integrates seamlessly with other ring devices.

Died in one day and prevents you from going live

It is important to us here at Ring, that the features available to you on your new Spotlight Cam Battery meet your needs and expectations. We really appreciate that you have placed value in owning one of our Spotlight Cam for your home security.
The more events captured by your Ring Spotlight Cam Battery, the more your battery is used to power the live HD Video stream to your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the Live View to look or speak through your camera. To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, adjust the motion frequency to best fit your needs, or adjust the direction of your Ring device.

Great security camera!

That, and all the other features that Ring offers with their systems make this camera a top contender. Also, the battery will last about a month.

They do miss a few recordings though. We belong to neighborhoods and we think all brands miss a few. Plus no extra charge no matter how many you have for cloud recordings as others charge per unit.

It’s really helpful to see who’s approaching and when you use the app you can get neighborhood postings of suspicious behavior. In this age of disappearing packages this product is a must!

The only thing I’m trying to get to work better is the motion Sensor it is very delicate and I get about 500 notifications today. From a bird to a butterfly. Other than that it’s perfect.

Needed to come back and by Chime Pro to improve my WiFi connection as this is on top of downstairs garage. A hard wire may have been a better choice. Will see how it holds up.

The clarity is less than I expected. You get an overall view but you won’t see a clear face pic or get a license plate number after about 20-30 feet. But overall i recommend depending on your needs.

From my cell phone I can set the parameters and sensitivity for viewing. With the sensitivity and the bright light on the bottom of the camera, I was alerted to a mouse running around by my gate!

The battery lasted about a month before charging. I’m really impressed with this product. This one is attached to detached garage and rarely lose any signal! Love these cameras and appreciate the security I have on my home now.
