The battery lasts approximately 2 weeks on a charge. This can be improved by using the solar battery charger for this camera that will eliminate the need for battery charging.

He has two other battery Ring cams, and they last for quite a while before replacing the batteries with the backups.

Have it in my back yard with only path lights at night. The night vision only had an effective range of about ten feet. I plan to install flood lights to boost the visibility at night.

I’ve purchased 10 between 3 properties and they always work and look great. Even if you have a weak internet signal it learns the distance from the router and boosts its signal. Truly great.

The viewing area is quality and expansive, however it is limited in its flexibility to adjust its alert/notification zone compared to the Ring doorbell (the area in which something/someone triggers the notification).

The batteries do last quite a long time (after install I didn't have to touch it for a couple weeks running on a single battery. It supports two.) Checking the battery level is quick and easy (one tap from the viewing the image), and if you have a 3rd battery you can do a hot-swap with one if its dead. Big minus though -- I'm hearing Ring has contracted with hundreds of government agencies, which means technically there are thousands of people who *could* watch your videos without your knowledge. You can decide if that's a problem for you, as there are other camera systems that don't do this.

Can adjust to “ human” activation and light to turn on at night. Perfect for my cabin cruiser

Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience with us. We strive to deliver quality devices that will serve you in the long run, as we understand that you will be relying on them for your home security. The Ring Spotlight Wire-free Cam installation is intended to be as simple as possible.
This camera can be mounted on a wall or eave by simply changing the direction of the mounting plate. To do this, open the battery compartment. Next, remove the security screw and weather seal. Press the release button and slide the mounting plate down and out. To mount on a wall, reinsert the mounting plate with the ball socket pointing down. This allows for vertical mounting without the need for shims or wedges. The locking collar tightens clockwise and should only take a few turns to fully tighten.

It is critical for a home security device to have enough power to keep your device online and ready to protect you. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the battery on your device is draining sooner than expected. While you only need one battery for your Spotlight Cam to work properly, you can extend the battery life or avoid any downtime while charging with a second battery (sold separately).
Your Spotlight Cam security camera may not need recharging with normal use. However, this depends on a number of factors in your home environment, such as the weather and the number of activities captured.
If you are experiencing a large number of motion events, we recommend adjusting your motion settings to avoid excess events. You can draw your own custom Motion Zones for your security camera in the Ring app, so your device can focus on the specific areas that are most important to you.
To access Motion Zones, go to Motion Settings on your Ring app and edit the zones by dragging the dots and creating unique shapes to monitor a specific area.

Some kids were playing hide and seek at night and I saw them through my camera. I turned on the siren and they went running. Hilarious. Videos could be better quality but it’ll get the job done.

If you have an echo dot and enable Ring, Alexa can set the live footage on your tv it’s perfect when you’re busy in the kitchen but want to keep tabs on what your kiddos are up to.
