I was hoping to prop them up and use them in temporary locations for a while but they need to be wall mounted to stay upright. Otherwise they are easy to use.

Occasionally it takes a bit to get connected to our wifi which may be more of a wifi problem than a camera problem. I do wish it would pick up motion at a little farther range than it does.

Ring doesn’t work if you have a password that includes a symbol, so we would have had to change our passwords for everything else in the house in order to install these spotlights, which would have been very difficult. Instead, we returned them and have ordered another system. The installer worked a long time trying to get them to work and called for support but no go.

Posted .Hi jAGG. This isn't the Ring experience that we would want you to have. Sometimes, no alphanumeric passwords can be problematic for the setup process. If you router allows, you can create a separate network for specific for your Ring devices. This has been a great workaround for some. If you have any further questions or concerns, try browsing the Ring Community at https://community.ring.com/. If you received a prompt letting you know your Spotlight Camera Battery device is offline within the Ring app, then multiple (potentially all) of your Ring devices are offline. In this situation, the problem is most likely your wifi connection. This can happen if your internet is temporarily down due to an outage, if for some reason your modem or router was unplugged, if you got a new wireless router, or if the password to your wifi network was changed. In this case, select the Change wifi Network option in Device Health to reconnect your Ring Product to wifi. In terms of battery life, batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. I bought another two months ago for another location on the house. Works great and Rings customer service is top notch. Easy pick up during Covid at the store.

This spotlight cam picks up the entire back yard! Again, easy to install, set up, and sync. Puts out plenty of light to see the walk, and very clear reception.

These wireless cameras don’t need to charge often. For me after full charge it takes about 45 days to re-charge the battery.

The battery last about 3 weeks on high settings. I bought a second battery so I can just swap them out and not worry about recharge time.

I have them all around the outside of the house. Battery life is pretty good. Ring is always finding ways to help with battery life with upgrades to their app.
