The video quality is its weakness. Definitely not 1080p, as advertised. It’s 480p at best. I tested it next to the router with speeds of 210/20 Mbps. Since it doesn’t support 5G bandwidth, those speeds mean nothing to this camera. They also exaggerate the Ring doorbell’s video resolution; that one is well below standard definition.

We understand how important it is to have clear video from your security devices. The Ring Spotlight Camera is intended to deliver up to 1080p HD video. Although upload speeds do affect the overall performance you get from your device, you should still be able to get great functionality from your camera. We're here to help you find a solution.
If your distance test resulted in the same video quality, it may be due to network congestion. In this case, you can change your current wifi channel to 1, 6, or 11 as they do not overlap other channels. Changing to one of these channels should improve your video quality, and can help with most audio issues as well.
