I moved my wireless router to the middle of the house and there is only one wall between this camera and the router but I still get slow response most of the time. Especially when there is an event that has been triggered. Sadly I'm used to this from the other RING products I own. With that said, I'd still buy this again to cover an area that doesn't have a power plug available.

Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment and preserve battery life. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. I’m a huge San if the entire life of products. But I wasn’t a fan of this model. After purchasing it I also got the upgraded model and found it to be worth the extra money. I’d prefer using this model inside the home as oppose to outside as I planned. I don’t regret the purchase but would definitely recommend paying the extra money for the upgrade.

We understand how important it is to have a device that accurately reports the status of its battery compartment through the Ring app. The Ring Spotlight Camera - Battery is intended to only notify you if the battery compartment is legitimately open. Rest assured, we are here to help.
In order to avoid any false alerts, please ensure the rubber gasket around the battery hatch is clear of any accumulated dust and debris. To securely close the compartment, start by slowly yet firmly closing the door until all edges are touching. Push further until hear or feel a small click, ensuring the door is locked and secure.
