But it is not nearly as sensitive as the floodlight cams. I can’t count on these to pick up motion at all. If someone runs quickly by it, for instance, it won’t pick it up at all. I kind of feel like we wasted our money on these. Three stars given for this product.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Spotlight Camera picking up the correct motion. If this is the case, you may want to adjust your motion settings. Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. Seems ok, but not great

Most of my Rings have been hardwired power and this battery one takes a while to connect with live view or to view past videos. It might be a software thing, but so far I would try to stick to hard wired instead of battery.

The more events captured by your Ring Spotlight Cam Battery, the more your battery is used to power the live HD Video stream to your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the Live View to look or speak through your camera. To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, adjust the motion frequency to best fit your needs, or adjust the direction of your Ring device.
