I ended up returning them due to slow performance between camera and app. Sometimes took over a minute for motion detection alert. Also the light on one of cameras didn’t work properly.

You can change sensitivity but I cant seem to find the sweet spot. I either get footage of every car that drives by or dont get any notifications at all

This camera features two battery slots, but can function as intended with the included battery. Additional batteries can be purchased for those who wish to prolong their time in between recharging.
Wifi extenders, such as the Ring Chime Pro, can be used to extend your signal further to better reach your devices.
Alternatively, you can try relocating your router to a more central part of your home. This way, your signal will better reach farther areas of your home.

Sometimes the recording are a bit delayed and takes a while to process or load and by the time you open it, the activity is over.

We understand how important it is to receive motion notifications in a timely manner. Notification delays are normally attributed to poor wifi or cellular data connections. Do you happen to know what your upload speed is? We recommend running a speed test next to your router and at the mounting location of your Ring device:
Open Ring app
Click on the hamburger menu or 3 lines in the upper left corner
Select devices
Select a Ring device
Select device health
Select "Test your Wifi" under the tools section
Tap "start test"
Tap start to begin the speed test
Once the test is done, tap your phones back button, this will take you back to the Ring App
Enter your results from the speed test
Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection is not as strong at the location of the Ring device. Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the device is functioning as it was intended.

Not As Good As Everyone Says

The clarity when zooming in a little or alot it breaks the pixel count tremendous. Already had someone come on to the property and the crap didnt turn on. Only as the individual was leaving....qas told it only shoots upto 30ft clear....wrong i am well with in those terms....was told didnt have enough juice in my wifi.....wrong have 1T wifi at the house.....was told i would need a wifi extender.....uh wrong again i bought the rings wifi extender......its not worth it....

In order to enjoy the best performance, Spotlight Cam needs to be mounted in an area that works well with its environment. Please ensure your camera is mounted at 9 feet off the ground. This allows for optimal motion detection, as well as a clear line of sight. We detail how properly mounting your Spotlight Cam is crucial to achieving the results you want, and provide guidance in this article below.

Once you've optimized the positioning of your camera, you'll notice that your chosen motion settings apply more evenly, thus improving motion detection. Although there are various factors that affect video quality, your device is capable of capturing up to 1080p HD video. In your case, please ensure that your Chime Pro is currently supplying wifi to your Spotlight Cam. You can do so by reviewing the Device Health section of the Ring app.
Here, you can test your internet connection, review the RSSI reading, and see if your device is connected to the Chime Pro Network. Should there be an issue, you can find links to common solutions on improving your connection to your Ring device.
Please note: your RSSI reading should be between 50 - 60, and be displayed in green text. If yours is higher than that, and in red text, please select the question mark next to it for more info. You can learn more below.

Booklet only told you how to load battery and adjust angle of camera. Need to have instructions for set up in booklet also. Returned them and purchased a trail camera and now getting pics every day of activity.

Bought a back up battery, so it can be just as atrocious. Bought a solar panel so it can charge the batteries, and it barely does that. Batteries take nearly 4 hours to fully charge plugged into the wall. I legit do not know why Ring even offers this product. They should stop doing so. Because it’s bad.

Not a fan of the big brother Ring devices or the monthly payments. Used to watch over my elderly Mother's house. It does a fair job. Would rather have DVR on premise to download from.

A Ring Protect Plan is not necessary to view real-time notifications on your Ring cameras. Without the Ring Protect Plan, you can still use the live view and two-way audio features. You are still able to see who is at your door and answer motion notifications. In order to see past recorded videos from your ring device, you will need the optional Ring Protect Plan, which starts at $3/month per device or $30/year per device.
