The camera works fine, but it needs a sensitivity switch. The wind blows and sets it off. I was getting about 50 calls every 15 min. due to the motion of bushes in the front of the house.

Beware. We feel this spotcam has a design flaw. Exposed outdoors to rain both my spotcams get flooded inside. One cam failed. The other still works even though it has water inside the bottom light half round dome that opens to change battery. I installed a protective silicone covering over the plastic casing to protect the spotcam from rain but now its not as motion sensitive. If you can keep your spotcam dry from rain, you'll be happy i think.

Hi CurrentResident. I'm sorry to hear you experienced some difficulties with water damage to your Spotlight Cams. The Spotlight Cam Battery is weather-resistant and water should not get inside the Camera when it is installed according to the instructions. I'd recommend verifying the installation of your Spotlight Cams to make sure everything looks good. You can find the installation instructions here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003340986-Ring-Spotlight-Cam-Battery-Installation. Someone could be breaking into my house by the time I can view the live feed or even the motion feed or if at all I can view it. The blink outside camera does the same thing. It's trash Too. Hello NotBestBuy,

Having a dependable video feed, whether on live view or a motion event, is essential in a home security system. At Ring, we believe that stronger communities are the key to safer neighborhoods. That's why we're driven to create products that help you protect what matters most at home and empower you to connect with your neighbors from wherever you are.

You may have recently received a notification on your mobile device of a motion event in your Ring app. When you opened your Ring app to view the event, you got a blurry screen with a message that the "app was having trouble connecting to the Ring device". There are three things that could cause this:
      1. A poor connection between your mobile device and the internet
      2. Slow internet upload and download speeds
      3. A poor connection between your Ring device and your router.

The first thing you should check when receiving this error is the connection between your mobile device and the internet. Are you getting a strong signal on your phone? If not, can you connect to a wifi network to strengthen your signal?

Please reach out to our dedicated support team, here at Ring. We'd love to assist you with resolving the connectivity concerns and ensure your device has a solid connection to the internet moving forward!

      Thank you,
      Alexis with Ring Ring

      Hi DorothyG.

Thank you for sharing this feedback with us.

We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. The features and technology provided by the Ring Spotlight Cam Battery are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are eager to provide you with a solution for the installation concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like you may need some assistance installing your device. While installation is designed to be a fairly simple process, sometimes a professional may be needed. It's important when selecting a location to remember that Spotlight Cam is designed to be placed at an optimum height of nine feet with the motion detector parallel to the ground. This will put the motion sensor in a perfect position to detect human-sized objects at up to 30 feet.

In this particular case, we'd suggest you reach out to Best Buy's customer service: 1-888-237-8289 or https://www.bestbuy.com/services/triage/home. We are confident that they will be able to provide you resolution to this installation concern.

Purchase a two pack Ring Spotlight battery security camera less than one year ago and one of the camera is not powering on. I have charged the battery until the light is green placed it in the camera until I heard the click and still the camera does not power on. This is very disappointing, and frustrating. Hi Beautifulbaldman,

It's great to learn that you are enjoying the lights on your camera. We know how important it is to have a clear video feed from your security devices. The Ring Spotlight Camera - Battery is intended to provide the same 1080p HD video quality as your Ring Stick Up Camera. Our team is here to help you get the most out of your Spotlight Cam - Battery.

If you haven't already, please check the Device Health menu tile within the Ring app. Each of your devices have their own health report, which can help you better understand important factors affecting your Spotlight Cameras video quality.

For example, if the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) reading on your Spotlight Camera is higher than your Stick Up Camera, the wifi may not be reaching your Spotlight as effectively. You can also test your wifi network right from the Device Health to learn more.

Here is an article that goes into more detail: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-Values-and-Wireless-Signal-Strength

      Hi Sudh.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

We understand how important it is for your Ring Spotlight Cam Battery to function consistently and reliably, so you are alerted to any wanted or unwanted activity in or around your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Spotlight Cam Battery are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are eager to address the issue you raised in your review and provide you with a resolution today.

It sounds like your device may be offline. It is possible, under certain circumstances, for your Spotlight Cam to lose its connection to your wifi network. There are a variety of circumstances that can cause your Ring device to lose connectivity. These include:
A power surge causes a problem with your Internet router.
      You temporarily lose power.
A wire in your router setup temporarily comes loose.
You change your wifi network password.

It's important to understand that most of these circumstances are temporary. In most cases, as soon as the circumstances that caused the disconnect are cleared up, your Ring device should automatically reconnect to the network. Very rarely, though, your device will remain disconnected. That's when you should run through a troubleshooting routine that checks the possible sources of the disconnection.

Check that all of your wires are properly plugged in and that all the lights on the front of the router are green.
Check to see whether another wifi device is having a problem connecting to the network.
Unplug your router for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. See if your Spotlight Cam automatically reconnects.

      Hello Garden,

Ring knows the importance of having the motion detection work as intended. It is a valuable feature that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.

It sounds like the Motion Frequency feature may not have been set up properly for your environment within the Ring App. Ring's Motion Frequency algorithm is an internal program that runs inside of your Ring device. It analyzes the traffic patterns of detected motions, looking for repetitive patterns. When it detects such a pattern, it essentially "sleeps" your device for a certain period of time, cutting down the number of motion alerts you'll get from the same set of stimuli. The more time a repetitive pattern of motion continues, the longer the time between issuing motion alerts.

We'd love the chance to connect with you today to assist with making these changes and ensure the Spotlight Cam is working as it is intended.

      Thank you,
      Antonio from Ring Ring

      Hi Joyee,

We understand how important it is to have home security devices you can rely on. The Ring Spotlight Cam - Battery is intended to help keep you in the loop with events happening at home. Like all internet connected devices, your camera has internet requirements to operate as intended. We'd like to help shed some light on this subject for reference.

This device requires a minimum upload speed of 1Mbps, but 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.

You can use the Ring app to help determine if your internet connection is meeting these requirements. Please see the article below to learn how to do so.

No where on the website do I see that the cameras are only good for 30 feet recording distance. This does not even reach from my house to the side walk. I found this out AFTER purchase and installation. Secondly, they miss so many things that I know about happening, it makes me wonder what else they miss. I guess they do what they do but I would not purchase again. The recordings I see online are far superior to the actual quality you get. Finally, there is no users guide. You have to dig around trying to get information.

      Hello Dissatisfieduser,

We appreciate you leaving a review. Ring understands the importance of having the motion detection work as intended. It is a valuable feature that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Stickup Camera picking up the correct motion. The Stick Up Cam uses infrared motion capturing to detect motion within its field of view. You can use the Ring app to determine the Stick Up Cam’s motion detection range and the specific zones where motion will trigger a smart alert. These settings help ensure that the Stick Up Cam will capture the events you want to see and ignore the ones you don’t. Here is a helpful article with more information on how to resolve motion concerns with your device: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213106363-How-to-Set-Up-Motion-Detection-for-Your-Stick-Up-Cam.
