    The Ring Spotlight camera is not full 1040 HD capable and the spotlight is very weak. You will probably do better with the wired version if you don't mind running wires.

    This amount of money and the success of this product and they do not even include a plug to charge with, only a wire. That is just cheap

    We bought this camera to install on the side of our house facing a side street. It’s doing the job of sending notifications if there’s any suspicious activity.

    I wasn't impressed with this Ring product despite being a Ring camera fan. I live in apartments, so it was a bit much for the apartment breezeway. Also, the motion sensor wasn't that great. This product is probably better suited for someone with a home and not apartment living. I returned this product for a more simpler basic Ring camera. I ultimately purchased the Ring stick up cam and I'm 100% satisfied!

    The ring camera and system I like a lot. Very user friendly. This camera is ok for zones were you don’t have power supply, but if power is available go with the ring flood lights

    Closing could be more secure. When I went to close the backing to the battery, it wouldn’t close properly. Other than that it’s great.

Physically installing your camera is designed to be a simple DIY process.Once the battery pack is fully charged, please follow the steps below to insert the battery pack into your Spotlight Cam:

      Press the white button to open the battery compartment on your Spotlight Cam.
      Push the battery into the compartment until it clicks into place.
      Firmly close the battery compartment door

      Note: It may take a bit of pressure to completely close the compartment door. Be sure to push on it until you hear the click that indicates the compartment is closed.

Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment and preserve battery life. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life.     Purchased ring spotlight for two locations and make be purchasing a third one as well. They sometimes freeze or buffer a bit but not too bad.

      Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with answering your Ring device from your Ring App. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring app with most of the features stripped out except for the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app in conjunction with the original Ring app, you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible.     They work fine but you need to pay for monthly service to get the recording as there is not a dvr option. I would rethink this in the future

      A Ring Protect Plan is not necessary to view real time notifications on your Ring cameras. Without the Ring Protect Plan you can still use the live view and two-way audio feature, you are still able to see who is at your door and answer motion notifications. In order to see past recorded videos from your ring device, you will need the optional Ring Protect Plan, which starts at $3/month per device or $30/year per device.       Poor video quality can be attributed to the wifi/bandwidth connection. One of the most important measurements in your Ring security network is the strength of your wifi signal. You may run a special connectivity test at any time to see if a bad wifi connection is responsible for problems with your device. We have included step by step instructions below:

      -Open Ring app
      -Hamburger Menu/ 3 Lines
      -Select Devices
      -Select a Ring device
      -Select Device Health
      -Select "Test your Wifi" under the Tools Section
      -Tap "Start test
      -Once the test is done, Enter your Results from the Speed test

      Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection is not as strong at the location of the Ring device.     Night Vision is unacceptable

    Overall it's not a bad camera but I needed for night vision in a remote area and in my environment it's not usable. I get that battery power would limit some aspects of the camera but Ring doesn't even allow improved performance when you have 2 batteries and a solar panel that recharges batteries to 100% every day. So if you want night vision forget this camera.

      Certain models of Ring devices have a night vision feature that allows you to see through the camera in low light conditions. By using infrared light, the camera can create a black and white image that is then beamed to the Live View in your app. By turning the color night vision feature on, the camera will use whatever ambient light is available to try and create a “false color” image in your Live View. This lets you get a better sense of what’s happening in the image by creating a false sense of color depth.     Ring is just so lacking. It doesn’t record till almost AFTER the action is over. The motion triggers, then seconds later the recording does. It’s late.

      We know how important it is to have peace of mind when it comes to your security and receiving notifications plays a significant role in having that sense of security. For our consumers, we want to ensure that you are notified of who may be near your door at all times.

      The Spotlight Cam Battery is designed to alert you for motion so you always know who is at your door. There are two types of motion zone features, based on whether your Ring device is battery-powered or wired, namely adjustable and customizable motion zones. While both are very effective at what they do, they both work on different principles and are optimized for different purposes.

      Adjustable motion zones is enabled in all battery-powered Ring devices, and uses passive infrared (PIR) sensors to detect motion. By enabling you to adjust the sensitivity of your existing motion sensors, you can receive only the alerts that you care about most. Adjustable motion zones work by identifying visitors based on a change in temperature, and sending a signal to your smart device when it detects one. You can control the sensors' range and sensitivity using the controls in the Ring app. It is also optimized for low-power operations to save on battery power.

    The camera had to be tweaked several times. It triggers an alert when the wind blows but not when people walk in front of the camera.

    These cameras weren’t bad, but they were just not for me. The batteries lasted about 3 days due to constant traffic and movement. Setting them up was easy, unfortunately I returned them because I couldn’t get over having to constantly charge or having to pay to store the videos. But if it’s up your budget they are good
