    When viewing a live feed the app allows you to zoom in to far objects. However if you are reviewing an alert after the fact you can not zoom in an object or a face( if you wanted to pass on to police). There are other products that handle this feature better and I will be junking this product when I move on.

    Motion detection would fail right in front of it, but a cloud's passing shadow would set it off, lights too weak for LED & battery that works really well with solar charger, would have also liked to mount it on top of something. I would put in a shed or garage for added security if the price matched the camera quality

    The cameras work really well, but there are a few Cons. 1) Ring subscription service is quite pricy. Without it you get zero recording options. Only live view is available. 2) One of mine got water in it somehow and fried itself. This was mounted outside under the soffit.

      Based on your review, it seems like water may have gotten in your Ring Spotlight Camera. Condensation is a naturally occurring process by which water condenses out of the air and forms as small droplets inside the device. This happens primarily due to the cooling effect when your lights turn off or as the light itself cools when the sun goes down. Are you currently a Ring Protect Plus subscription member? Or is your device still under the original one-year warranty? If so, please reach out to our support team as soon as possible so we can discuss a resolution for you.
      This issue could also be caused by environmental factors as well, it’s important when selecting a location to remember that Spotlight Cam is designed to be placed at an optimum height of nine feet with the motion detector parallel to the ground. This will put the motion sensor in a perfect position to detect human-sized objects at up to 30 feet.     Problem here; read me!

    I have a ring spotlight cam and an attached solar panel. Since it has worked so well, I ordered two more of each. UNFORTUNATELY, the plug for the solar panels would not go into the port on either camera. Forcing it bent the pole. To address this (Mr. Fixit), I scraped the plastic on each to avoid the same problem. The poles go into them, but neither solar panel works and I cannot tell if it is the cameras or the solar panels. If you are OK with using and recharging the batteries when needed, then you are OK. Otherwise, buy something else. Who wants to spend hours climbing ladders installing devices that don’t work.

    At the recommendation of the Best Buy employee I purchased the Ring cameras. I went in with the intention to buy a Nest. The quality of the cameras ability to recognize movement is disappointing. It will pick up a branch moving but not a human when it clearly should be in the line of vision.

    The camera goes off and on all day and night as any car drives by and the battery has gone low very quickly. I can't get the limited area to be within my yard and not capture the street as well. I would not recommend this camera.

We understand how important it is to have your devices working as intended, as it offers a level of security in your home.

      After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Spotlight Camera is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest-working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:

      Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).

      If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.

      Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.

      Wait for your internet to be restored.
