Don’t waste your money

If there’s motion it barely picks up anything. I’ve tested it out myself didn’t pick me up at night or during the day, only sometimes. I’ve adjusted it where I want it to pick up a long video. If there’s motions back to back it misses one of them. Not reliable

Horrible

It stops working all the time and after researching I found that there are a lot of negative reviews similar to ours stating that the camera has the ability to be hacked which is causing me a lot of concern. Wish I could return it but it’s passed the 15 days.

If your Ring device is falling offline, there are a few things we will want to look at first to ensure your device has a strong wifi connection. There are three main factors that can weaken your wifi quality:
If there are physical obstructions or the router is blocked in a closet or behind furniture, the wifi quality can diminish.
Other electronic devices competing for the wifi signal can impact your device's staying online.
Competing wifi networks can interfere with the wifi signal.

We know how important it is to have your Ring devices working properly to secure your home. The Ring Spotlight Cam - Battery is intended to be a reliable wifi camera that stays online for your peace of mind. We're here to help find a solution to the connectivity issues you're reporting.
Disconnects are typically traced back to two factors. The first is distance from the router, the second is environmental interference.
First, we recommend you perform a distance test. If possible, please bring your Spotlight Camera into the same room as your router. Trigger a live view to start a video feed and start walking towards the area you had the camera installed. If the video quality starts to fail, it could be due to distance.
This could also be due to nearby interference such as brick, metal, large appliances etc. We recommend that you relocate your router to a more central part of the house, whenever possible. This will help ensure that your wifi devices such as Spotlight Camera have a better wifi connection.
If you have a wifi extender, we recommend installing it to help with connectivity issues. You can check out our Chime Pro, a wifi extender exclusive to Ring devices.

Defective camera/Horrible Customer Service

Most importantly, try to cancel your subscription. There is no way to do it online without involving someone in the chat process. Their web site is terribly slow, with no way to cancel.

If you would like to cancel your Ring Protect Plan, please log into your account at ring.com/account and select your existing plan on the left hand side. Then from there you can select "cancel plan." It is important that the motion detection feature on your Ring Spotlight Cam Wire-free meet your needs and expectations. We understand you've selected Ring to keep you updated on activity, and receiving notifications when people arrive at your home is essential.
This camera uses Adjustable Motion Detection and runs using passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. It's designed to be placed at an optimum height of nine feet with the motion detector parallel to the ground. This will put the motion sensor in a perfect position to detect human-sized objects at up to 30 feet. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distance.
We agree that every second counts when connecting to video. Distance does play a big part in the overall connectivity and quality of the live video, however, there are other factors to consider. Nearby interference, network limitations or a combination of both can also affect your cameras' ability to connect to quality video in a timely manner. For example, if your camera is mounted on a surface that is made out of heavy-duty materials, an otherwise strong signal may diminish as it passes through those. Materials such as metal, brick, and cement could prove to be a challenge. Do you happen to have your camera mounted on or near something like this?

Worthless

The only time it works is right after a reset of the camera and then it’s good for perhaps 2days. Even when connected, the live view function seldom works. Avoid this camera!

This should not be the case. Your Ring device should hold a stable connection to your home WIFI network. Ring Spotlight Cam is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi networks operating on 2.4 gHz frequencies. Would you kindly confirm that your home WIFI network meets these requirements? Not Happy

We know how important it is to maintain your security devices attached to your home and out of harms way. This camera includes everything you need to properly secure it to your home. You should also expect accurate motion detection from this device. Our team is here to help find a solution.
For best performance, this device should be mounted at 9 feet off the ground. This allows for ideal motion detection, a good field of view, and will prevent unauthorized access from reaching the camera. Tightening the security screw located on the mounting bracket's collar will ensure no one can easily remove the camera.
We include a single Ring Quick Release battery with your purchase. Although this should be sufficient for most cases, one can purchase an additional battery to use in the second slot. All batteries are the same size.
To get the best motion detection, please follow the guidance in this article. You'll learn how to properly position your Ring Spotlight Camera to improve your motion detection.

POOR QUALITY GOR THE MONEY

On my 4th defective one.

This has been a total pain and waste of time and gas. Amazon owns them now and they are not the same. the quality has went way down.

Poor quality control

Best buy gave us the hardest time getting a refund. Best buy has become a manopolply for in person electronic shopping.

Intentionally misled by Best Buy!!
