Very Effective for Security

We already have Ring door chimes so there was no problem in linking them to our network. My only problem so far had been setting the range for those we mounted outside to react to motion close to the house, such as visitors, delivery men and animals, but not react to cars traveling down the street. Batteries have been lasting two months before needing re-charged.

I purchased the solar panel and it does not charge the battery for the full 24 hours. The camera works with the solar panel only in the day time when the sun is up. I would definitely recommend to purchase camera that is not wireless.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble keeping your Ring Spotlight Camera battery charged. If this is the case, you may want to adjust your motion settings. Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment and preserve battery life. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. Improved security

It allowed me to catch someone driving our neighborhood and raiding mailboxes looking for checks and deliveries. He denied his activity, and I was able to provide evidence to police of him opening and removing items from my mailbox as well as my neighbors across the street. Caught with undeniable evidence. He also had previous charges for home burglaries.

Easy to put up, set up on our cell phones and home wifi. We use two batteries just because but only one is needed. The solar panel is easy to connect also. This is our second solar can and we plan on buying two more. The only extra item that we bought were wire guards or tacks that we attached to the under boxing of our house to help keep the solar panel wire in place or from hanging down.

Great service by the store! Camera and light worked great but siren and speaker did not work. Called Ring support, long story short they said it was defective and sent me another five days later. I was still able to use the camera until then. Rings support is A1 and always great. I ordered a black camera from Best Buy and Ring sent me a white one. Oh well! Overall very satisfied with the store, product and Rings support

I read some reviews where people complained that the lights aren’t bright enough... I disagree with that! I think they’re just fine for their purpose! No, the image isn’t 4K quality, but frankly, I’m not trying to enjoy a feature length movie ... these Ring spotlight security cameras are great for the money! I bought more! If you need lots of light, then check out the floodlights!

The only negatives i have is that you are limited to only 30 seconds of video capture when triggered by motion. It would be really nice if you could set that time to what you choose. Battery life has been pretty good. I have 4 of the cameras and I purchased 2 extra batteries. I monitor the battery life through the app and when one gets down to 30 - 40% i swap it out with one of the spare batteries. The camera's also will hold 2 batteries if you want longer life and are willing to purchase an extra battery.
