The only reliable ring cameras are the video doorbell and flood lights, which do not work with solar panels but then again solar panels are worthless. These spotlight cams do not work and miss every event. I’ve messed with sensitivity settings and all for a year and still having issues. Do not buy trust me

We understand how important it is to have your Ring Spotlight Camera Battery capture all the correct motion events. Ring devices were designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We can definitely assist you with this today, and we are confident we can find the correct settings for your home’s environment.
It sounds like your device is not detecting motion the way you want it to. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring security camera to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. In order to get proper motion detection, battery-powered cameras using passive infrared motion detection, should not be placed facing a window or in front of a glass door. To adjust your motion zones, follow these steps in the Ring app:
Tap the three lines on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the device you want to adjust.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Edit Motion Zones on the top of the screen.
Tap Main Zone on the bottom to adjust the main area.
Tap Done on the top right to save your zone.
In addition, the Motion Wizard will help optimize your motion detection for your home after you answer a few quick questions. We highly recommend you use this as a starting point to set up motion detection for your Ring device. Visit our support center for additional information.
