My porch gets full afternoon sun, but the brightness does not affect the picture. It's very easy to set up the software and view videos. My only quibbles are: delay in recording; it seems better at capturing cars passing by on the street than quick deliveries.

Ring Doorbell

(Other wise video is broken & choppy) Also be prepared to pay the monthly cost (about $3.00) so you can review a and/or save the videos. Other than that it's a great product! Battery came with about 50% charge on it already looks like it will last for about 3 months before I need to charge again. I love the motion detection part of it also.
