I love the video doorbell. It does great for seeing who is at your door and also if anyone or anything is in your yard. Wired it up to my regular door bell and worked fine but now it doesn't work. I will have to check it out to see why. The ring does come on my phone to let me know that there was motion out side. I love it so far.

The concept for the doorbell is great. It works awesome when both the device and my phone are on the same network. The user can also define sectors around the device on when to capture motion etc. However if your phone/tablet is not on the same wifi network as the device the results are mixed. One contributing factor is your cell service. If you have a not so great cell service then the app takes quite a bit of time to answer the call. The best I was able to do is about 30 seconds +/- 10 seconds to answer the call. I was only able to get that type of time consistently if I was on a wifi connection. Using my cell connection on my device and my friends (two different providers and hw types) we never got down to those types of times.

have it turn to just about the minimum distance and still get a lot of motion alerts. You can stop notifications for certain hours otherwise you would be up all night, There are monthly charges for cloud storage. The newer version suppose to have better video

Has been helpful at times with making sure my packages are safe and delivered on time. Plus some instances where questionable people came knocking on my door and didn't want to open the door, I was able to communicate with them through the doorbell. Audio is a bit choppy but it is still usable.
