To insure social distancing, I purchased Doorbell 2 so I could see and talk with potential visitors, e.g. pest control, lawncare, etc. In addition, Doorbell 2 provides extra security to alert me about cars, people, and/or animals in close proximity to the front door. I'm considering ordering one for the backdoor. Doorbell 2 is battery operated, so I plan to purchase the affordable solar charging system for long-term handsoff maintenance.

I had the Video Doorbell 1 for many years and just upgraded to version 2. It's better in all ways. Video quality is dramatically improved. The HDR function evens out the exposure. My doorbell is mounted on a porch with overhang and now the foreground and background are both properly exposed. Battery life is increased and it's much more convenient to not remove the entire doorbell for battery charging. Video never stutters and it was easy to fine tune the motion zones.

Love having an extra set of eyes watching over my family. Was great during the holiday season when we had a lot of deliveries. Was great to be able check and see who was on our porch, especially when we weren’t at home.

This was a very quick install for someone who isn't very handy. I love the way you can see outside your home from any location. It gives me peace of mind that my house is safer. I can adjust the motion through the app to capture any movement from a car driving by or even less just activity on my porch. This is a great product and it was a great price when I bought on Black Friday. I encourage anyone who wants the extra peace of mind to purchase

Camera works great and was also easy to install while replacing existing doorbell. This came with all mounting hardware and drill bits. My doorbell was not on the same side as my door so I had to purchase another mounting plate to angle it 45 degrees. Now I can see who is coming up my driveway. My only gripe with this thing is you have to play with the sensitivity of the sensor. Once you figure that out, it's pretty solid. I also pay the $3 monthly fee since this thing is pretty useless without it.

Great camera. It was very easy to install. I was surprised at how much of the front lawn area it captures.

We love our Ring! It videos anyone coming to the door. We even registered it with the police. If anything is going on in my neighborhood, and they have come to our door, it’s easier for the police to catch the bad guy.

I picked this up as a Christmas present for a relative. It was easy to setup and operate, and you can fine tune the field of view to stop motion alerts from passing cars. A couple of things to note. I was replacing her intercom doorbell; this unit requires a 3rd party power adapter and won’t work as a replacement because voltage is not sufficient. Second thing to note is that video alerts after the first month are only available real time and not stored unless you pay them monthly - this was not expected which is why this is 4 and not 5 stars.

I like how the Ring doorbell works. It shows a clear picture of what is happening at your front door, day or night. A couple of things to be aware of, you only have access to your recorded videos if you upgrade your account. If you don’t upgrade, you can only use “live view”. And you have to play around with the motion range, if you don’t want alerts every time a car drives by. I try to have motion detected in my driveway, but I can’t do that without having it pick up cars, passing by. Fortunately we don’t live on a busy street. All in all, it’s a great product for the price.

The set up was easy. Doorbell provides clear video day & night and has a good battery life.

Installed 3 of these Ring Doorbell 2 units around December 1st 2018 and all of them have been working as expected. The weather is finally getting cold now and they are still working fine. I'm curious to see how they perform over a long stretch of extra cold weather. My only negative so far is that I wish the night vision clarity was better. You could ID someone you already knew, but I'm not sure if you could positively ID a stranger at night without a light source. As for daytime and lighted areas at night, the imagery and videos are good.

The Ring Door is one of the best security system out there. The coolest thing about it is that you can see the person and talk to them. One the best system and one of the lest expense- I recommen this product.

We purchased the ring after buying new front doors without a peephole so that we can see who is there. It was very easy to install and we connected the original wire instead of using battery so we don't have to worry about charging it. You can see the details quite clearly and can see quite far. It does lag a bit when loading to see it on the app required to use the ring but I do like to see what is going on around with the app. It keeps me informed about crimes I was unaware were really going on. It also has really good night vision.

I just purchased this to replace my Video Doorbell 1. The picture is a lot better, and the drop-out rechargeable battery is a nice feature. The package also comes with a lot of accessories, such as both silver and bronze face plates, and a mounting bracket to use the mounting holes from a Video Doorbell 1. However, just like all Ring devices, the main drawback is that in order to record, you need their subscription plan, and it doesn't have any integration to tie it in with an existing video system.

Excellent image quality. Easy to set up. Battery lasts 2-4 weeks, depending on usage.

Chose thus one because it allows for a wireless installation, the existing doorbell faced sideways about waist level and was useless. This one works great, the setup was easy and the app works great so far.

Bought it to replace my old ring doorbell 1 which had an awful battery. Battery lasts longer and is easier to recharge. There is a lag on motion sensor and video recording. Curiously enough it will sense cars passing by but I go undetected when pulling up my driveway which is closer than the street. Overall, it serves its purpose which is a doorbell and aeeing who is at the door. As a surveillance it is average in my opinion.

Install was super easy, luckily our transformer was already within the correct voltage so that didn’t need to be replaced. Tip: We have a house that was built in 2002, our transformer is in the garage on the wall by the water heater. So, check there first if you are not sure. Also, if you hard wire the unit the battery never needs to be pulled out as it is always charged. Overall, very happy with the camera and we are going to add a spotlight camera next.

No problems at all, easy install (ties in to existing doorbell wires). Quality is great. I do wish I purchased a Nest doorbell to go with my Nest cameras. Having smart devices from different manufacturers is a pain as you can't easily pull them all up on a webpage but it definitely does the job. If you want any sort of playback or history, you need to sign up for a monthly service.

We just recently installed our Ring Doorbell 2. It has been really neat to be able to see what is happening outside of our front door. This system is really easy to install and took me about 30 minutes, compared to a system that needs to be hardwired in. We are able to talk to people who ring the doorbell no matter where we are, through our phone. The only issue I have is that it seems to take FOREVER to charge the battery. However, the charge can last a really long time (a month or more).
