This is a great security camera that is used whenever someone comes to the door. Fantastic invention!

I followed the installation directions and it would not stay up for more than a day. I was constantly recharging the battery daily. It was off more than on. I contacted Ring and they promptly sent me a new battery. Tried to keep it in service but it only lasted 12 hours than the previous battery. I tried changing the settings and still it didn’t last more than 36 hours on a single charge. I called Ring again and they promptly sent me a new door bell which I installed on Tuesday. As of now, on Friday, the battery is not discharged as quickly as before and all looks good and functions as advertised. I was sold a defective product but Ring was prompt in their support and responses. My takeaway is I probably would have had returned it but I went past the return date so I am stuck with it. I would have returned it for two reasons. 1. Failed out of the box and it took a month to, at this point, get it right. 2. I would prefer not to pay Ring to store the video collected. I’d rather set up my own local storage and maintain it myself and avoid the annual cost and limited time the video is stored. I’m still undecided about paying for storage of the video captured at the door. It’s currently free for a month. Most likely will not pay for it but install another system so I can avoid the monthly fees. It gets pretty pricey at Ring if you have more than one device. Do your research as it will most likely be only used as a doorbell and not part of a security system.

This ring doorbell is great. I can see whoever is at the door no matter where I am. Definitely adds peace of mind to any household!
