I had purchased a first edition ring doorbell during black friday and was very impressed. I bought it to avoid running new wires to front door and not so much the camera part of it. After about a week of owning it I can't imagine not knowing when someone stops by! I recently dropped my 1st gen Ring after charging it while trying to put it back up and decided to upgrade to the Ring 2. This is a big improvement from the first edition for the following reasons: -Video quality (especially at night) is much better on the Ring two. 720p vs 1080p -Ring 2 comes with a extermal battery that is rechargable vs having to remove the entire doorbell to charge (Reason why my Ring 1st gen broke)

I have a love-hate relationship with my doorbell. When it works, it captures everything I want crystal clear... from the delivery guy throwing my package to which sales person is at my door. When it doesn’t work I am frustrated. The doorbell when pressed always captures fine no matter the circumstance. But the motion sensors are glitchy. Sometimes they capture everything. Sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it captures only a part and leaves out important parts. Sometimes it captures cars driving by (I call these false positives). As a result I have turned off motion notifications and I usually just go through the footage as need be. Live view is great! Just make sure there is a good WiFi connection. It’s a good entry level security doorbell if you’re looking for something affordable and practical.

I have the ring pro myself and love it! This ring is just as good as the pro... purchased it for a Christmas gift for my parents and the picture is extremely clear. They had the Arlo before and they are so much happier with this ring doorbell. Would highly recommend!

Love having the security of knowing what is going on outside our door!! We've had the doorbell a month, and its a great home addition!! Sometimes the video sticks, is unclear, black, or garveled. I think we may need the WiFi booster.

I originally got this because I get a lot of packages at my door. It's nice to know when they arrive so that either I or a neighbor can pick them up if I am out of town. It is also great when I am out of town because now it appears that I am home thus decreasing the chances of anything unwanted happening to my place. I definitely recommend Ring products. We have been very happy with ours.

My husband installed it it was easy to use, we bought another one for the back of our house it’s nice if you can hook it right into your regular doorbells then you do not have to change the batteries ever, great product

Bought this for my house, as I have no doorbell. Video retrieval is slow and laggy. Answer upon button push, is incredibly slow. Faster to walk downstairs and look out the window. If you have no chime in you home like me, it makes no noise, especially if your phone is on silent. Extra chime needed in my case. Over all good video quality and sound. Only about 25 days battery life tho. Never got 60 days or whatever is advertised. Buy an additional battery also if using battery power, takes about 2hrs or more to charge. Can use house voltage if you have a normal doorbell. Monthly service is required to view and play back ANY videos period!! If u don’t purchase a plan all u can do is have a live view, and answer doorbell rings.

The Ring doorbell is great! We are really enjoying having this. It was easy to install, replacing our existing wired doorbell. We also got the Chime pro. Allows for us to hear when someone is at the door. We could not be happier with Ring. Video quality is good. I recommend Ring 2 or above.

I bought this to protect my home when I am away. Great to keep packages safe.

The Ring Door Bell is a great concept, however it does not work perfectly. I purchased the ring door chime as well, and there is a noticeable lag between when the door bell is pushed and when the chime rings. There is major internet connection problem with the ring door bell. I have 1GB internet speed and the ring door bell is about 3 feet from my router and it drops connection randomly, the video is extremely choppy, video recordings are sometimes black, it shows it recorded an event, but you cannot view the video.

We were having trouble with our current doorbell and this is an AMAZING upgrade! Super easy to install: you can wire it in or get a separate chime if you just want to use the battery. The house definitely feels safer!

With the number of packages disappearing I thought I’d be proactive and get something to help deter and identify thieves in the event they do strike. Great quality video, sleek design and easy set up. Must have for home owners. Neighbors appreciate it as well.

If you are looking for home security via WiFi, this is a low cost, contract free, monitoring system for the front door. You receive video on your cell phone app whenever someone rings the "Ring" doorbell. You can answer the "Ring" from anywhere you are giving the impression you are home. You have the option to add cameras (back door, garage, et al) to the system. Also, you can sign up to save and retrieve all your "Ring" videos for $3 per month.

Subscription is needed to continue saving the videos after the 30 day trial. Setup was easy. The only thing is that sometimes the ring picks up motion too late and the person is already walking away from the door when it goes off. Other than that, a good device.

Easy to install, relatively inexpensive way to secure your property and keep porch pirates at bay! Would love to see every house in my neighborhood with a Ring to create a safety-net. Works well with my smart system.

I am so glad that I have this watching over my place. I use it only on battery power (purchased a second battery to swap without having to wait for the one that came with it to charge). Video quality is pretty good.

The quality is amazing. I love the alerts through the day on my cell phone.
