Fixed Charging issues when Hard wired - Ring

Before I installed it, I fully charged the battery and installed it with ease. I also hardwired it with my new 16v/30vA transformer. The Ring app said it was hardwired. But the issue I had was, my battery was slowly draining by 1% everyday, I waited to see if the transformer charged the battery, it did not, even though my transformer was reading 18Volt AC output ( checked with multi meter). Called Ring customer service, they were excellent, we tried to reset the Ring door bell but it did not fix the problem, so Ring sent me a replacement unit, but the replacement unit was also draining 1% everyday, I returned the replacement unit back to Ring, and decided to change my transformer from 16volts to 24volts/40vA. The 24 volt transformer fixed the issue. My Ring bell holds up the charge and it displays 99%-100% charge. So far my Ring is working good.

This is a great device that actually improves my life. Make sure that your door has space for this large bell, and hardwire it if you can. If not, you will have to recharge the battery once every three to four weeks.

Little hiccups but overall a great thing

The only complaint I have that it has to reconnect and takes a few seconds to do so. By the time it connects the person is gone. You are able to go back and review it, but it kind of defeats the purpose if it's an intruder not a delivery person. Very easy to install. We were able to get the doorbell and the echo show bundle at a great price.

Bought for wireless option

Having it operate off battery is a great option. The clarity of the camera, even at night is amazing. First night it was working it caught a family of deer during the night. I ultimately went a couple months later and wired it in so I wouldn't have to worry about charging the battery.

good but all black

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My video doorbell was delivered by the install guy...only hitch was that the video doorbell was (is) all black instead of Satin Nickel, so I'm a bit disappointed with the appearance but didn't want to go through hasseling return/reorder/reschedule installation, so minus one star deducted for that reason--otherwise doorbell functions well, video is very clear, and I'm overall happy with the product.

Peace of mind

The daytime view is great, in color and sharp. The nighttime view is in black and white only and a bit pixelated on occasion, but still very viewable. Bought the Ring Wifi extender and also an additional battery so there is never a lapse in operation.

Easy to set up, with some quirks

Only issue I ran into is you are limited to the adjusting of the motion fields. So you cannot dial back the middle and keep the sides wide, it all moves as one. If you have a general home layout this would be fine, but if you are closer to the street than your driveway you may want the Pro version for zone flexibility

Peace of Mind

I live in an apartment and knowing who comes by my door or packages delivered gives me a peace of mind. Definitely less stress I have to think about. Easy to setup. Step by Step through the app. And it is compatible with my Echo Show so I can see who's out front!
