It records mostly everything that moves in front of it. There are a few times where it doesn't sense movement. One of the times it didn't was when a packaged was delivered and it didn't detect motion of anyone taking my package.

Great camera

They getting older in age so they don’t move as fast as the once did. With this ring the use it to stay up with the ring camera and also other camera I installed Across their property. They have joy checking in on each camera (weird I know). But whatever gives them Peace I guess. But hey they love it and I havent Heard any complaint so far!

Much improved especially on battery mode

This product is amazingly better. My original device was hardwired and this new one uses the battery. It is leaps and bounds better than the old model with improved motion zones and pre-roll. It will play what is being recorded before the motion event took place.
