Video Door 4 - Needed the pre-roll feature

We bought this model of the pre-roll, pre-record feature, which is great. But this model does not have the delivered package view nor the delivered package alert, disappointing. We needed to replace an older doorbell, and picked this model for one reason, the pre-roll. In terms of video quality, no significant improvement over the 2nd generation doorbell.

It sounds like the device is not detecting motion as you expected. This camera uses Adjustable Motion Detection and runs using passive infrared sensors. Package Alerts can also be enabled under the Smart Alerts tab in the Ring app.
To enable Package Alerts:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Smart Alerts.
Tap Enable Feature.
Tap Continue.
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the bell and the camera under Package Zone to enable Package Alerts.
After you've adjusted your settings tap Done.

Very happy with Ring system and the app isn’t clunky at all. As long as your home Wi-Fi is good enough you won’t have any problems. Also take your time setting up the devices settings or else’s the defaults might be triggering to frequently.

Works well setup is easy, even if you have never installed a doorbell before. They walk you through the steps. One thing though. Since you want to start with a battery that is fully charged, allow a long time for the battery to charge completely. It took seven hours after I opened it before I could install it. Not a complaint but rather a heads up.
