Worked great at first, now it don't
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked great for the first 2 weeks, now it's not picking up motion sometimes. I have sensitivity at max too. I was going to buy more ring cameras, but I'll wait now and look at another brand, i want something that will pick up motion everytime, not when it wants to.

Ring Doorbell
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our doorbell recently stopped working and this was an opportunity to install the Ring doorbell. What a difference! The ability to know and see who rings the doorbell but also to determine if I should open the door. We live in a gated community however this gives us added security.

1st one bad, 2nd one seems good so far...
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 1st experience with this was not good. It worked about 50% of the time. I had to replace it because I found it was damaged by what I believe is someone trying to either break in or steal a package. When I checked the events, it didn't even record it, so I really don't know for sure how it happened. It had one job, just one.... It still worked (about 50% of the time) after that, just the plastic lens cover was cracked, which you could see in all of the later event recordings. I had the replacement plan, so I swapped it out with a new unit. So far so good. The new one seems to be much better than the previous one, which was probably just a defective unit from the start. I should have just swapped the 1st one out from the beginning, but was busy and just never got around to it.

Posted .Hi there, I definitely know how important it is to be able to rely on your home security devices. I'm sorry to hear you had someone damage your Doorbell 4, and I hope they did not cause any damage to your home. It's hard to say what may have happened if nothing was recorded. However, it's great that your replacement Doorbell is working well so far. If you have any questions about your Doorbell, try searching the Ring Community https://community.ring.com/ to see what other neighbors are saying. All the best, Ashley from Ring.

Pair this Ring Door Bell with the Ring Solar Panel
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My home didn’t have any wiring for a doorbell. Rather than deal with installing new wires, I elected to go with The Ring battery operated doorbell. Paired the Ring Solar Panel it works perfectly.

Ring Doorbell camera
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring Doorbell camera has a nice, clear picture, but you need to adjust it a bit to avoid getting too many notifications. It seems to be very sensitive. It is also easy to change the battery when it is needed.

It’s ok
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Video quality is good, the pre-roll is still kind of glitchy. It catches and records movement as it’s happening so it’s not really “pre” roll. My previous rings would state it sensed motion and would start recording a few seconds after the motion was detected.

Older versions better.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Older version was better. Has an issue with weak WiFi signal. They sent me a replacement and both had the same issue. I have multiple ring devices and this is the only one with this issue. My older version was solid and had strong WiFi connection. I have a router on every floor of the house. They changed something in this version that makes the connectivity suspect. It also has a pre-roll function that never produces video clearly, it’s always grainy. Won’t pick up My neighbor leaving his house at 5am in the morning with his headlights pointing directly at the camera. So much less than the capabilities of the older cheaper version. Wish I could go back but my original one died after 7 years or so of use.

Posted .Hi Gooch. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having a consistent wifi signal on the Ring Video Doorbell 4. Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the connection issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not operating as intended. Video Doorbell 4 is Ring’s battery video doorbell with features including color Pre-Roll technology, 1080p HD video, two-way talk, Advance Motion Detection, enhanced dual-band wifi and Quick Replies. With color Pre-Roll, users can see even more of what’s happening outside their front door. With an additional 4-second color video preview of each motion event, the doorbell will automatically start recording before users even receive an alert. Ring devices require high speed internet to bring you crisp, clear video and audio. Poor network connectivity can effect the performance of your Ring device. Identify and troubleshoot what is causing connectivity issues for Ring devices to give you the best possible video and audio experience.
To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
In edition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.

Just thanks a lot to the technology. I love my ring doorbell so bad! I have 4 echo at home and I love when someone ring the bell and all echos says the same lol. I wish I could have years ago.

Good upgrade for a better peace of mind!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Prior to purchasing this doorbell, we did not have any outside video surveillance. Setup was easy (hardest part was deciding where to mount the doorbell). Great way to keep tabs of what's going on around the front of your home, especially with shipments and deliveries. The one thing that I don't like very much is that the quality of the "pre-roll" feature isn't good from the start of the video. It clears up afterwards, but it would be nice if they came out with improvements where the video would be clearer from the start. The Ring Protect Subscription is cheap and gives you access to motion recordings for a longer span of time. This helped us out with a loss package claim a few weeks back (UPS marked package as delivered, but we proved it was not delivered to us on that day with the Ring Doorbell).

Catches movement outside before the dog
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love our Ring! Only downside is that it picks up motion on bright sunny days from cars passing by despite setting up perimeters which drains the battery faster. Another downside is that the Ring and Chime has made our dog less attentive to what’s going on outside because she now alerts off them.

Great doorbell
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had no prior wiring for a doorbell so this was the natural choice for us when picking a video doorbell. The notifications have been spot on, and the battery will last a surprising amount of time on one charge. Would highly recommend

Not quite pro
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my ring doorbell 2 but I ended up returning it and getting a ring doorbell pro 2. It was a little more expensive but a lot better. However if you need to have your doorbell run on a battery because you don’t have the wiring this is the one you want.
