The only draw back is the true batterylife of each battery, dependant on usage. For normal steady usage is truly about 1 month. Be aware. But great product.

This doorbell constantly goes offline. The battery lasted maybe 3 months. It's hardwired. But when the battery totally died and stopped being charged, the whole system stopped working. Shouldn't the hard-wire prevent that? So now I will be looking for a replacement.

It sounds like your device is not performing as expected. Sometimes extreme hot or cold weather can affect the battery, even when wired to power. If you see extreme weather in the forecast, be sure to charge your battery before.
If your Ring device gets disconnected from wifi by network or battery error, you'll see a red icon on your Device Dashboard in the Ring app, letting you know your device needs attention. Tap the red icon and follow the instructions on the error screen to help you troubleshoot your issue. You'll see an error code with alphanumeric characters (i.e., P1-65, P1-67, and P5-01), along with suggestions of things to check and things to try.
