We are saddened to read that the installation process did not go as smoothly as it is intended to. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with information regarding your concerns.

We do sell a spare parts kit that would include all the hardware you need: https://ring.com/products/spare-parts-for-video-doorbell-3. The included adaptor plate allows you to upgrade your device without drilling new holes during installation.

The Ring Protect Plan would be cancelled and a prorated refund would occur for your old device, once that device is removed from your Ring account. The new device includes a 30-day trial period, after which you can decide if you'd like to subscribe to the cloud based subscription service or not. After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Video Doorbell 4 is not picking up the correct motion. The Ring Video Doorbell 4 has features such as Near Zone functionality, boasts 1080p video, improved night vision, improved audio quality and near motion zone detection. If you are having trouble with your device picking up the correct motion. We recommend adjusting your motion settings and zones. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring device to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. By selecting Motion Zones to cover only areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can effectively monitor the area you want as well as reduce the number of “false positive” motion alert.
