Posted .Hi Vinny, thanks for sharing your feedback. Knowing when there's a visitor at your door is a key feature of your Video Doorbell 4. If you're receiving false motion alerts, you may need to try adjusting the Motion Zones to ensure they only cover the common pathways that visitors to your home take. Ring Ring (heard at the door)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only rings from my phone, or my other Amazon echo. I'd have to purchase a chime too. Too many other things to get separately before I could just use this effectively and satisfy the projected outcome you'd expect to have with such a device.

Not all it’s cracked up to be
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Why is the doorbell so expensive and doesn’t already come with a chime or a device so that you can hear the doorbell in your home that kind of defeats the purpose. Also, the battery runs out quickly in the winter.

Posted .Hi Kris.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
We understand the importance of having a solid charge on your Ring Video Doorbell 4 so that you can have a longer time between charge cycles. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device, such as the Ring Video Doorbell 4, is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We can definitely assist you with this today to ensure your Ring device is performing optimally and the proper settings are chosen within the Ring app.
It sounds like the battery in your device is draining faster than expected. The battery in your Ring Video Doorbell 4 can last months between charges; however, this is dependent on a number of factors.
You only need one battery for your Ring Video Doorbell 4 to work properly. However, if you want extended battery life or don't want to experience any downtime while charging the battery, a second battery is available for purchase.
Excessive motion events can drain the battery on your device quickly. To minimize excessive motion events, you can adjust the motion settings using motion zones. Motion Zones allow you to define a specific area that you want your Ring device to cover while ignoring everything outside that area. By selecting Motion Zones to cover only areas you want the Ring device to monitor, you can effectively monitor the area you want as well as reduce the number of "false positive" motion alerts (such as cars driving by).

Not impressed... buy cheaper model
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not impressed... battery dies fast (only had 5 people ring the doorbell after fully charged & it's at 40% for 1 month). Sometimes I get notified if a garbage truck drives by but don't get notified is someone is in the driveway or at the door unless they ring it. Better off buying a cheaper model.

With color Pre-Roll, users can see even more of what’s happening outside their front door. With an additional 4-second color video preview of each motion event, the doorbell will automatically start recording before users even receive an alert.
We understand how important it is to ensure that the battery is holding its proper charge and how cumbersome recharging the batteries can be. Please know that we are here to resolve these concerns with you today.
Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment and preserve battery life. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. Posted .Hello Sherry,
Thank you for taking a moment to leave your review on the Ring Video Doorbell 4. We know how important it is to have peace of mind when it comes to your home security, and having an unresponsive device can be concerning. Please know that we are here to assist and are confident that we can find you a
resolution in a timely manner.
After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Video Doorbell 4 battery is dying and that your solar panel is not fully charging your device. Ring recommends fully charging the battery first. The solar charger needs at least three to four hours of direct sunlight, depending on your usage. Make sure there are no obstructions that could be casting a shadow on your solar power device such as an extended roof, trees branches, or bushes. If your installation area is frequently very cloudy or gets a lot of rain or snow, this could limit the amount of sunlight that your solar power device receives.
The solar panel requires direct sunlight. Filtered/indirect sunlight through the clouds will not provide a charge to your doorbell/camera. Here is a helpful article that explains this in more detail: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061517732-Solar-Charger-and-Solar-Panel-for-Ring-Doorbells-troubleshooting.

Ring Video Doorbell 4
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ring Video Doorbell 4 is not as good as the my previous Ring Doorbell Pro. I thought that I was upgrading, but not satisfied with the new unit. The video does not catch motion most of the time and I have moved the sensitivity from mid to max and it makes no difference. Also, video is not clear at night, very blurry background. Will return and go back to the newest Ring Doorbell Pro.

It sounds like your Ring Video Doorbell 4 is not performing as expected. The Ring Video Doorbell 4 is Ring’s battery video doorbell with features including color "Pre-Roll" technology, 1080p HD video, two-way talk, "Advance Motion Detection," enhanced dual-band wifi and "Quick Replies." With color "Pre-Roll," users can see even more of what’s happening outside their front door. With an additional 4-second color video preview of each motion event, the doorbell will automatically start recording before users even receive an alert. With Ring Video Doorbell 4, stay connected to your home from anywhere by seeing who’s at your door and answering it right from the Ring app.
We would love the opportunity to share with you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to get your Ring Video Doorbell 4 functioning as intended. If your device is unresponsive, try pressing and holding the reset button for 20 seconds. Follow the steps in the Ring app to reconnect the doorbell to your network. To reconnect a Ring video doorbell to your wifi network: Open the Ring app. Tap the menu (≡). Tap "Devices" and select the doorbell or camera you'd like to reconnect to wifi. Tap the "Device Health" tile. Under "Network," tap "Change Network" and follow the prompts in the app. Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in "Device Health" to confirm it has successfully reconnected.
The Ring Stick Up Cam is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. High-speed internet is recommended. If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection issues.
Here are a few of the top reasons for poor connectivity:
Your Ring device may be too far from your WiFi router.
Your mobile device has a low signal or poor connection.
Your home wifi connection is poor (or your internet service provider is experiencing high traffic).
Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere with or weaken your router's wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location for your wifi router.
Check your mobile device's signal. If your mobile device has one or two bars, this could be causing issues accessing your Ring device. For best results, make sure you're connected to wifi from wherever you are.
Most internet service providers range from 100–400 mbps (megabytes per second) for download speed and 10–100 mbps for uploading. If your wifi speed is falling below the ranges noted above, we recommend contacting your internet service provider.
