only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because they just released a new generation with better battery life and 1080p camera that is very clear. I own two of these and one of the new ones. The 'subscription ' service is very reasonable, if you get the highest teir will cover all devices no matter how many you get. Each device also comes with 30 days free, which will add on to your current service time!

It makes me feel safer! Love it!! I can be out and about and can see my house and what is going on there. The motion at the front is very accurate!!! I would definitely to tell a friend that it is great door bell with extra features.

Works as advertised. Solid build, super easy to install. Quality is good, would have been nicer had it been 1080p instead of 720p. Battery life is super long and doesn't need charged very often at all. Even out in below freezing temps. Only other downside is having to pay monthly/yearly for service, zero free options. Only 2 reasons for not giving it 5 stars, it being 720p and no free options for video service. Other than that- a sweet security addition to any home/apartment for not a lot of money.

We've only had this for about two weeks now, but so far we really like this! I love the notifications we get when movement activates the camera. I feel more at ease with getting things shipped to my home, and with answering the door.

Our neighborhood was experiencing a rash of break in's and in most cases they were checking to see if anyone was home first by ringing the bell or knocking. This device was recommended by multiple neighbors who have used theirs to warn others of questionable people and catch the image of their cars and criminals themselves. It was very easy to install and gives a clear picture. The recording feature is priced very reasonably and ensures that we have the recording even if we didn't answer the ring or motion. I would buy more from this brand.

Amazing device! Perfect security video doorbell, is really cool and can videochat with whoever is at the door thru smartphone without opening the door. Esp. great at turning away pesky salesmen!

This is an awesome doorbell. Our house didn't have a doorbell prior to buying this. We would miss deliveries and visitors quite a lot because we wouldn't hear them knocking on the door. With this we always know when someone is on our property and can see who it is before answering. Another great feature is the ability to talk to whoever is at the door, especially if it will be a few minutes before we can answer the doors. My parents even went and bought one after seeing how ours worked and how much we liked it. Needless to say they love theirs too.

have had numerous problems with this product, had to send it back and get a new one for it was losing its charge and would not cominicate with the internet, once i received the new one on a rainy day the unit would not work its a shame because the concept is a good one but they should have tested the product numerous times before putting on the market.

I went with ring over some other brands because I wanted a great doorbell camera that didn’t have to be hard wired right away. They say you have to charge it every six months however I usually charged every 2-3 weeks. It keeps a decent connection to my WiFi and the picture is clear, I just hate having to take it down to charge it so often. And it’s even more in the winter!

Pros: very easy to set up and the mobile app is wonderful Cons: I’ve had to reset the device three times in one week, because it loses connection to the WiFi

We purchased this item after looking up some possible solutions for a home video camera for our front door; in addition, we needed some visibility for who was at our door because our smoked glass prevents us from seeing who's there before we open the door. The Ring was a the perfect option for us because it provided the solution we needed that best fit our needs. For added convenience, you can hard-wire the camera,which eliminates the need for a battery. We enabled the motion-detection option and it works like a charm. Now we know who's at the door, when a package is dropped off and we can monitor it throughout the day, and even answer the door. Cloud storage is only $30/year too, which is literally pennies a day...and lastly, they just added a live view, so it really fits the bill for exactly what we needed. There are definitely more robust camera systems, but if you're just monitoring your front door, this is a great option. Plus you can add another device somewhere else and eliminate the need for using multiple apps/cameras to keep an eye out on your home. The only issue I might have is the delay when you get notified someone's at the door; I wish there was an option to automatically launch the app in the settings so that I can immediately see who's there instead of opening up the notification and then going to the app.

Great security camera. My family and I feel very safe knowing we can still know what's going on at home even when we are away.

I really do like the idea of the product. it functions well, but it has some drawbacks. First is the paid subscription. Without this, the unit is nearly useless. So you're paying quite a bit up front and a little bit forever. Second is the sensitivity. You can set this, but it is not great at differentiating certain things. I've put motions sensitivity down to almost all the way and the sun still triggers it when it passes into view. I mean, i can't guard from the sun!

I really like this doorbell. I feel much safer knowing if someone is at my door and being able to see and talk to them. The only issue I had was trying to find someone to install it for me. The Geek Squad couldn't do it because they said they didn't have the insurance in Texas. So if you live in Texas don't bother trying Geek Squad to install it for you! However, Ring does offer this service if you don't feel comfortable trying to install it yourself and they charge less than Geek Squad. All in all I would say this product is a winner!

The motion detector has delay and does not adjust to low light well. It's better v. competition but still only 3.5 to 4 stars.

Would like to at least be able to check who is at the door for at least up to a day and be able to playback without a subscription.

Easy to install and app is very user friendly! You can have it up and running in 30 min. Video quality is good and works well with my iPhone.

I purchased a Ring for myself and loved it so much, I bought one for my Father. Unfortunately his existing doorbell was an intercom so we could not hard wire the unit. We installed it anyway and ran it off batteries but he now has the hassle of changing batteries. Make sure before buying that the unit will fit on your door. Many front doors have limited space on the door jam.

Excellent quality doorbell.Ring makes a good security system that is easy to install. I'm very pleased with the product.
